    Wow Nicogens! I really liked that level.

    I also like your composition. That 16-bit Casino Street music. This is what it should have been in Sonic 4.

    But I see it a bit too hard for being Spring Yard. You should scatter a bit more of rings through the level and make it a bit more easier.

    Nice to see this hack in the works again. :)

    In my hack, I'm going to put at least one classic badnik/enemy in each zone. The obscure the better! According to the wiki, this guy's name is Gaikoko. Don't think he was ever given an english name, so let us just go with that. Yes, he is going to be a platform. Hopefully an appearing platform that shoots fireballs downward. But I have to code that. Yeah, he didn't have that curved outline line on his forhead, but for the top downness for my hack I am going to have to make an exception.

    Question. Will people be able to figure out what to do here in this section? It isn't on the main path, so it is harder but has more rewards.

    Also bonus picture! Right now they just faze in and out (used to be the sbz vanishing platforms). Who knows if I am still going to add the firing down projectile.

    It'd be cool if you changed the sprites the match the perspective by using like those Special Stage Sonic crackers sprites or Sonic 3D Blast sprites or something. As it is right now it's really confusing looking

  8. An error doesn't justify the other. And you know how Sonic Blast is loved by everyone, right?

    Still, that was a poor example, since even Sonic Blast tried to use the correct perspective. Look at this monitor:

    Notice how the rounded base and the angled top suggest it's seen slightly from above. There's also this object you can stand on:

    It uses the correct perspective. From your picture it looks like the spikes have rounded bases too, but I'm not sure.

    Well I plan to eventually put every object I can in the correct perspective, though I'll admit that I didn't think of monitors. The skull is a start, right?

    Still, show me a visual example of what could work as spikes, maybe the examples that were mentioned before.

    Did Sonic 3D Blast have spikes? That might work if it did, although I'm not completely sure about that

    I know that Gene Gadget had the regular long pointy spikes. Don't know how good it would be for my hack though. What about these Crackers spikes you talk about?

    So lately I've had quite a few people asking whether my S3K hack is still being worked on/is it dead/have I given up and I decided to answer that in the best way possible; by showing progress.
    I recently finished FBZ1's layout for both Knuckles and Sonic and thought I'd try to show it.

    Sonic springs up to a new route through the roof, with a floor lock that stops him coming back.

    Sonic standing next to a Super Sneaker monitor. Slightly annoying to get to, but not overly difficult.

    Sonic riding the spinning hexagon blocks. They rotate like normal and can crush you inbetween the wall. Might want to be careful of your footing.

    As usual, all comments and criticism are gratefully received.
    And I'm still working on the palette, so ignore it. :v:

    There's nothing wrong with the palette in my opinion, it's nice to have a pale set of colours in place of the older (boring) colours =)

    No, this is not S3K HUD/Titlecard/Sonic ported to S1. This is S1 (well, Two-Eight) levels ported to S3&K.

    As is evidenced by broken floating platforms/spikes, broken background scrolling, starpost... and a retarded screen lock.
