*facepalms while laughing uncontrollably* Good god, you guys... what madness have you wrought? Bwahahahaha... XD And... why am I somehow not all too surprised that you're responsible for the spritework in this gem, Ranger ;P Well played, good folks. VERY well played. XD I suppose all that remains would be a Tails update, but what's there is amazing. VERY clever. And as Spazz already pointed out, that puts the name of our home forum at "Sonic Eats Rings.com" at a completely new perspective. =P
I should point out a bug I found. At one point I was underwater in Aquatic Ruin Zone on my last life, where I hit a ring box and became Immobile right about before I was going to drown. I died of drowning. THEN I died of obesity. The result? I GAINED v5 lives! No Game Over. The fuck?
Hypothetically, since Sonic is extremely fast, his metabolism is extremely high. As a result, it would very much be possible for him to likely loose weight rather rapidly and inhumanly.
Know that comic people kept posting with Nipples the Enchilada? How super sonic is buff as fuck and in a pair of underwear? There's your Super Sonic for this game.
It might have been the life counter looping. A similar bug happens in Sonic 1 in GHZ if you let a Newtron follow you to the exit sign with one life and no rings. Why it gave you 5 lives instead of reverting from 00 to 255 as usually happens with these bugs is beyond me though, are you sure it actually gave you 5 lives and it wasn't just the spazzing-out life counter showing it?.
I think it might have looped. I didn't know what was next to the 5, for all I know it could have been a symbol to represent the 255 lives.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=140KoVUxfI8 Did it look anything like around 0:48 in that video? If so, then yes the life counter looped. I'm not sure why it shows that little thing, but I'm guessing it's probably just corrupting the appearance of the life counter somehow.
Yep, that looks about right. The counter probably can't take more than 2 digits, so it has to make something up to replace it.
Yeah I'm guessing it's the same thing that happens in Pokemon Red/Blue when you do the Missingno item duplication glitch. It looks for a tile beyond the 9 tile to represent 10.
It certainly is, but it's also a well balanced system that never feels cheap. To compare, red rings was absurdly difficult and some sections were literally impossible to beat without cheating. Unimpossible was also mentioned, although I haven't played it sounds like there are too many added rules. This one is fairly straightforward, and also the funniest hack I've seen since Mr. Needlemouse. P.S. - I found an invisible floor over the lava pits in metropolis act 2. P.P.S. - Was there ever something like this in an episode of AoStH?
The nice thing about this game is that it has a way to get out of sticky situations. If you get too fat you can simply lose the weight by running back and forth. Sure you'll lose some time, maybe some points, but at least you won't die.
