Heh, I wouldn't know. I never beat Rush, nor do I still have it, but these screens don't look like it to me. Sonic looks different, for example, and I don't remember many things looking like sprites, but seeing as the game was constantly speeding me through the three levels I put up with, I didn't pay much attention to the graphics, except Sonic looked like a 3D render, especially on those things in the desert level you swing around where he really does look 3D. I guess I'll have to see how the game looks in motion though... The video looks nice, at least. I don't know about that... It's not Adventure 3 material.
Hm. That very short bit of terribly-executed gameplay does look a lil' better than Unwiished. But only a lil'. Not too thrilled about this title so, far, personally. =/ The prophecied lack of story-telling through cutscenes isn't really helpin' that impression, either.
Gameplay looks nice, but there isn't much. Unleashed 2 minus voice acting, Werehog, and traces of SRS BSNSS, though? Nice.
Polygon already said that Sonic is a model and everything else in sprites for the Sonic Rush games. This looks no different. The rocket is a sprite and Sonic is a model. The model in those screenshots looks exactly like the Sonic Rush models.
Rush for you. It's sprites except for Sonic. Everything from Colors DS is a direct rip from Rush. all item art, enemys, Sonic himself, the engine, ect.
It looks really good. I'd really like to see more than 30 seconds though. The dude playing ain't exactly an expert, is he?
It's like thirty seconds of an idiot running into the same trap over and over, how can you possibly make any impression about the game based on this?
The way Sonic moved in that video made me a little nervous. But still, it was only like, what, 24 seconds? Also, ATTENTION GUY PLAYING GAME: IF SPRINGS HAVE EGGMAN'S FACE ON THEM AND CHUCKLE WHEN YOU GET HIT, THEY ARE BAD THE LEDGE IS RIGHT FUCKING THERE.
Well, it looks like it plays like the 360 version of Unleashed but instead on the Wii, includes the ring loss effects, seems to take a little more thinking layout-wise than boostorama, and it's incredibly surreal. Also, did I see Sonic do a slight double-jump ingame?
I'm hoping that we will get better footage than THIS. From the looks of it, it's using the Unwiished engine with a couple tweaks. The rings look the same as the ones from Unwiished as well..
http://www.sonicstadium.org/news/sonic-col...-takashi-iizuka Unlike Sonic 4, where people are horribly subjected to Jun Senoue, expect great tracks from the Unleashed team. Official confirmation of what has been discussed over and over again.
Y'know originally I was going for the DS version, but with how amazing the other one looks and plays(?) I might have to choose that, or be greedy and go for both. Either way it looks worth a purchase, even if it's not the best /unpredictable optimism
I'm not the only one who noticed that? I thought I was seeing things when I saw him use the Homing attack since I've never thought Sonic would have both. Maybe some gimmick in the stage lifts him?
Because it's probably just more suited to the the DS than the Wii. And they have exclusives for each system apparently.
