Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Boss Battle Theme in A Capella

This reminds me of something I noticed a while back.

The Sonic "theme" (intro music and invincibility from Sonic 1 & 2) has just the right number of syllables to fit "Sonic the Hedgehog". I've noticed this technique used in theme music from time to time, having the music "sing" the name of the show or character.

Another example is this (go to 0:16 to see what I mean):


I'm not sure if either of these were intentional, but I wonder sometimes if it's a composer's "trick", something to make the theme music more subconsciously associated the brand, and somehow catchier and more memorable.

It's not good in the way that she's a great singer, it's good in the way that it makes me lol, like this version of "Pokey Means Business". I'm compelled to have a search for Windmill Isle with lyrics now.

Ack! That would be great if the instruments and vocals were in the same key.
