Possible origin of Knuckles' Theme Song?

    So, here it is. I'm at work right now, more specifically at the Delta ticket counter. Next door is Virgin America. Virgin likes to play music at their counter. A few minutes ago, I was talking to my boss about something, when all of a sudden I hear the drums from Sonic and Knuckles. My ear perked up, and I excused myself and went over to see what song it was. Apparently, it's a song from 1992 called "I missed the bus"

    I think that Michael Jackson's In the Closet fits much better... Actually Knuckles' theme is so simple that it fits with thousand of songs...

    I see where you're coming from with the similarities, but it doesn't really sound like Knuckles' theme song—it lacks the lower tone, alternating pitches between each percussion hit, and it doesn't even sound like it's the same instrument. Actually, these just sound like claps or something, which is a pretty common component of rap and hip-hop from that decade.

    Nice effort, but I don't think you've found anything. Sorry.

    lol my room mate often listens to Kris Kross. Also if knuckles missed the bus, this could be his theme. Other than the percussion I don't see much similarities.

    This thread is now about 90's rap songs with similar percussion to knuckle's theme (also this song seems to have the exact music track)

    I think I would have enjoyed this more if there was absolutely no sound. They copied this theme for Sonic 3 as much as those kids copied Thriller. No resemblence. I understand your "it kinda sounds like it but it's not" qualm though.

    Man you guys are haters :P

    At any rate, this song DOES pre-date Sonic and Knuckles, does it not? The beat is there, loud and proud, right at the beginning of the song. The one that you guys hear in that Jackson song is much more subtle.
