Project Needlemouse: old threads

Pretty much this. I'm happy there's finally something that will probably be critically acclaimed (If it's actually good looking, that is) and different than the usual stupid and gritty Sonic games as of late. It's gonna be nice to be able to play a new Sonic game with no story, all 2D levels, and nice, classic, music and themes throughout the game.

Approaching with caution over here. I have to agree that the shadow doesn't look like Sonic... that worries me. But I'll wait and see. If it's a new character, I pretty much give up.

Don't know why, but I'm starting to see what everyone's noticing in the picture Sega posted. I hope the actual design isn't too bad. Or at least, not far away from the original.

 

Alright, you guys don't have to over analyze the logo. It's Sonic, why wouldn't it be? SEGA just threw it under some filters and put a trailer up quickly just to advertise it.

I'm hoping they decide to use HD art, that would be great to see.

+ - I hope Shadow isn't in this.  

 

I'm lazy, but overlay those images in photoshop. They're actually quite close.

 

Very captivating is the fact that the project is codenamed Needlemouse - which, under analysis, means that either Sonic Team is really willing to go back to its roots, or that they're trying to generate hype from hardcore fans like us, who are aware of such term and what it means.

I'm pretty sure SEGA is secretly looking and having a kick out of this thread. Hey guys, you hear me? DON'T FUCK THIS UP!

 

Thats still the basic shape of sonic's head, to me he just looks thinner. Anyhoo we will all see soon enough hopefully. I mean why would sega tease us with a new 2d sonic game and then pull the rug from under us making it a new character

OH.. my.. I think I literally died when I saw the trailer video! D: I do see the tail and I'm sure it's a new redesign of Sonic, just less spiky, I think. I really loved the 2010 rings.. looks so EYES CANDY! Seriously, it made me eyes goes all gooey with tears. xD Just don't failed me, SEGA! Dx

However, it's a trick of the rays of light there. If you overlay the Sonic 1 title screen, they're practically identical.
