It feels so good to see people actually doing real work on sonic adventure hacking. I've felt we needed to move forward to that for awhile now =)

  2. Few questions:

    > Why not change 'full speed running' to the other running animation?
    > What's with the random black 'rips' in the BG?

Because there's only one running animation?

And that's just how Speed Highway is, you just can't notice with the old BG.

No. There are two distinct running animations in the game—the only where Sonic is beyond walking, where he's running whilst his body bobs up and down a bit, and the "full speed" animation, where his body stays still and his feet move rapidly. Metal Sonic uses floating movements for the former animation, but he still runs with his feet on the ground during the "full speed" animation.

What I think he's asking is if the former animation can be applied to also play in the latter conditions, which I'd agree would look much better—Metal Sonic isn't notorious for running, after all.

... come on dude you were there when I cracked sonic's anims.

you even documented all of knux's... way to drop the ball man =P

... Also, Hinchy, if you want the metal sonic anim swap, I can give you the code to do it.

Is the BG thing because of his PC or is it like that on the console as well? I know how some graphic cards like to mess things up =P

While we're on the topic of SADX hacks, I'll ask a question. Is it possible to replace a chao model with a custom made model?

I'm kind of wondering this as well, but I guess it'd require a lot of effort to rig the other model and do the bones so that it can actually do the Chao's animations. Plus wouldn't it cause a lot of glitches, especially what would happen when you'd attach an animal to the chao.

Isn't it all too much effort for something that wouldn't probably work?

No. You can't import a custom model period.

Hence you can't import a custom model yet. It's not been done, at least that's what the statement suggests.

'Course that's an old replay anyway, so who knows.
