I used to read it as a kid, and kids don't keep anything organized or in good condition. So I lost them all. Is there anywhere on the web where I can find the old comics, in some form so I can read them?

I am aware of STC Online, I mean when it was still printed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trash if this is inappropriate.

There used to be an archive site which allowed you to download full issues, but it got taken down for some reason or other. Coincidentally I was looking the other night but couldn't find anything else sadly.

I used to collect the comics when I was young from about Issue 77ish onwards (Stopping at about 140), I actually got a picture I drew printed in an issue and I won a free disposable Sonic and Knuckles camera haha. Shame my collection got thrown out when my room got done over years ago :)

I never had a comic that belonged to be, but I seem to remember reading a very ripped comic, it was when me and my little brother went with my Mum to get new School School and while we were waiting to be served on the seat was the ripped Sonic Comic, I think I read about two pages of it since the rest of unreadable, it was to do with Knuckles finding out that Robotnik had tricked him and he was telling the story to Sonic and Tails. =P

It's also being carried on online at http://www.stconline.co.uk/. I think there is some original staff behind the online continuation and you can still view the online back issues in full.

As stated before, we are aware of it's existance, but Ell678 wants the original comic.
However, I must admit, I'm impressed with the continuation. I have a couple of storyline ideas, but I don't think I should submit them. Other than that, I applaud their continuation.

Tails Kick Ass is a great ressource for them.

Blackhole: well, I'm working with them and I know they're always searching for new artists/colourists/writers. Try your luck :psyduck:

Jayextee: you know, I'm working on three comics at the same time. xD

StCO is quite large for submitting your pages.

An archive of all published StCs would be awesome; part of the reason I'm starting my own now was that I wanted to get into StCO, but couldn't relate to some of the new characters and settings, since I probably only bought about 30 StC back in the day. Would be good to catch up.

We'll see how my own goes. If I get bored of it, I'l drop them a line.

StC was pretty damn good for its time. Granted, it had a few things I didn't agree with - Mobius (although that was fine at the time, before SA2 came and put it on Earth), AoStH Eggman (especially when the Eggman in question here is a legitimate threat and not the king of DURR HURR I AM FUCKING RETARDED), evil Super Sonic (pulled off really well, though), talking Chaos (IIRC)... and Mick McMahon. Goddamned Mick McMahon. Seriously, that man cannot draw. His idea of a "furry" is "let's take the same male human body with knobby elbows and knees, decapitate them, and replace the head with the animal in question, even if the end result looks nothing like it should!" If that's not bad enough, his ideal Sonic model is based of the Sonic 3D box art. The European box art.

I didn't mind the AOSTH design too much. In fact, I've got the issue in which that form was revealed in front of me right now, by a strange coincidence.

What's quite interesting is that one of the annuals has a bizarre combination of the AOSTH design and the classic design, which looks surprisingly good. I'll try and scan it in.

I have the entire scans of Sonic the Comic, with the exception of the issues that were complete reprints (which I will eventually get the covers for, they were the only thing unique to them), as well as STCO, Archie, and Sonic X on my hard drive. If anybody is interested in using them for archiving purchases, PM me or something.

That being said, I felt that between Archie and STC, STC captured the spirit of the games more. Granted, a lot of the later issues diverted from the formula, but I still felt that each character was given the appropriate personality. I was especially keen on the fact that Sonic and Knuckles weren't "buddies", but more or less reluctant allies. That was how I always envisioned it as a kid. One idea I wasn't a fan of was the handling of Super Sonic. Well, let me clarify. Having him be an over-powered, sadistic alter-ego was an interesting and unique approach which I liked. What I did not was later on when the two "split" and became separate characters. That was a bit too much.

Being American, I do have a bit of bias toward Archie, and still read the comics whenever possible, if only for the sake of nostalgia, but I believe that overall STC was probably the better of the two series. It's a shame that it was canceled.

I'd like to see your version, just curious ^^

We never really got a real Sonic comic in Belgium (and France). Oh, we had six issues of "Sonic magazine" but it was just some StC stories translated in french (the last one contained the 2 parts of "Casino Night") and an obscure, one issue "Sonic Adventures: Dans les griffes de Robotnik" ("In Robotnik's claws") released in 1994 but it wasn't very good (it was a veeeeery loose adaptation of Sonic 3 without Knuckles but a whole lost echidnas tribe led by the echidna Princess Aluçion...and it ended on a cliffhanger where Tails see Super Sonic, but he says that Sonic won the "Golden Armor" power! That same artist did a few pages for a "Sonic & Knuckles" walkthrough book.)

Thanks to ebay I could buy lots of StC a few months before joining the StCO staff so I could know how that universe was. And I'm happy I bought these books, StC is my favorite Sonic comic. (A friend got me lots of Archie and I continue to buy it, it's good but not as good as StC).
