Robotnikland does fit the zone, but I can't help but think that the name would put the game out of chronological order. In Sonic Adventure, Robotnik said he was planning to build the ultimate city, which he'd call Robotnikland. With that in mind, I don't think Robotnik would name his amusement park Robotnikland if he would later plan to give that name to his city. On that note, I also like the name Sunset Circus. I don't think it really describes the thrill or scare aspect of the zone (considering the Robotnik faces on the tiles and the giant roller coaster), but it's still a neat name, and it fits in with the other Sonic zones that were similarly named.
I think a main feature of this zone should be demented clown badniks. The could look like the stuffed clown from Poltergeist, and could multiply and explode right in Sonic's face (the explosion would leave Sonic dazed, but he wouldn't lose his rings) and we could have him guarding secret palaces. And then we could make the zone boss a giant version of one of these, with Robotnik riding in it. And after you beat it, the arena explodes and Robotnik and Sonic fall into the entrance to the next zone, where the second part of the boss fight starts, where you fight two of the clown bosses at once, but smaller, and not controlled directly by Robotnik, who fled the scene. When the boss fight is over Sonic could run out to zone three. Also, for the roller coaster idea, why don't we make it an entire act? You get on it after you beat the miniboss in zone 1 and you ride for an entire act. It would be a fun idea to do. Also, Crimson Festival.
I believe we should go for names like in Sonic CD. That the first and last word in the name started with the same letter. Like Palmtree Panic and Whacky workbench. Here are some of my ideas. -Crazy Carousel -Sinister Circus Maybe a mix. Sinister circus would fit if it was a haunted circus, which would be cool.
I actually like Sinister Circus much better than Sunset Circus. I'll vote for that one. Also, the team already planned to not use alliterations in the zone names.
Umm... I was thinking, we could use a genesis version of the song "Welcome to Bucketheadland" I think it sounds like a carnival or something like that.
Im not a big fan of alliteration even more so when its sibilance, its the sort of methods crappy TV adverts usually resort too
We have enough zone name ideas suggestions for now! What we need now is pixel art! Badniks, objects, and the actual level.

I suck at drawing badniks and stuff, so if anyone wants to draw my lion badnik idea, you're more than welcome.
Not a word about my awful MS Paint drawings. Following on from the tightrope idea, we have this clown badnik juggling three grenades... on approaching it: BOOM! It throws its grenades at you, in an arc. Defeating it would also lead to nice level opportunities: I invisioned Sonic having to destroy the badnik and using the unicycle as a safer way to traverse the tightrope. Like?

Completely random thought vaguely connected.
That's actually not a very bad idea in my opinion. It would give the player a sense of achievement over the badnik.
Yeah, though at the same time, like in SMB2 you shouldn;t make it mandatory to get on the thing if it's possible to fall and miss it. Also, sidenote - I love those 4 drawings for Sonic's expressions XD
I think it could be a nice gimmick if there's more reason for the unicycle to be there. Perhaps small areas that can only be accessed using a unicycle?
Does anyone think that there should be bumpers in this level? I mean, usually they're reserved for a casino level, but they could easily fit in here as well. Perhaps something like the balloons from Sonic 3 could be used as a substitute.
Has there been a straight Sonic game without them? To me, Sonic needs them somewhere. No excuses, it's practically in the contract.
