I'm wondering what the new hud icons are, the day/night ones with counters. Collectible items in the levels maybe?

Sonic Team character design is seriously the ultimate troll. No one with eyes can have taste that bad. It just keeps devolving. Big was goofy, Rouge was disturbing, Silver was a mess, Marine was a nightmare, and Chip is a pure terror from the depths of hell. Have we reached peak ugly yet? Does the next character have to be a leper who vomits up a strange liquid that causes epileptic seizures?

Also, this werewolf stuff looks exactly the same as all the other werewolf stuff only the video is edited better and they're not showing any slow platforming or lock and key puzzles.

Still, the music is nice, the cartooniness is refreshing, and half of a middling Sonic Rush clone is still better than any console offering since 2001. I just wish it wasn't always two steps forward, 196 steps back.

 

You seriously need to read more fanfics then. Sega characters are nowhere near as ugly as all the fanchars that are being made x_X

 

I think that Chip design is actually not that bad, and it certainly is a good acquisition for the Sonic cast. Now, only if we could erase Shadow, Silver, Rouge and Marine...Its almost like most of the characters made after Sonic adventure 1 were drawn by people on crack. I know that character aesthetics is a really subjective matter BUT everyone has an opinion and mine can be QUICKLY summarized as it follows:

Shadow: Sonic recolor aka Vegeta from Dragonball
Rouge: Tits
Silver: Lame design, even lamer name; Trunks from Dragonball Z; the whole "renegade hero" concept does not work on lighthearted franchises (LIKE SONIC), it didn't work for Shadow and it wont work for Silver
Marine: Stereotypical cheerful young girl; neither the personality nor the design are briliant and it is a character that no one will remember

Fuck, am I the only guy in this forum that actually thinks that Silver's design is actually good? His shoes are awesome, and the spikes on his forehead was really original, IMO.

I actually don't think Chip looks that bad, though he does seem like a tiny, purple remake of Tails.



If there's any real beef I have with most of the modern characters, it's that when they die they really need to stay dead.

 

You know, nobody seems to give E-102 Gamma any credit. He blew himself up about ten years ago, and he hasn't come back.

 

I don't really loathe the design for Chip, actually. Just as long as they didn't give it the "ADVENTURE" treatment.

 

But then came along E-123 Omega -- you call Shadow a Sonic recolor, then what's this guy?

 

E-102 on steroids.

Shadow and Rouge I like too, Marine...well, never played SRA.

But seriously, What the heck's wrong with Silver? Sure he's slow (and I don't really like that in a Sonic game), but he looks cool, and is psychic.

Oh, and just because someone's a hedgehog automatically means he's a recolor of Sonic?
