Fish just looks flat. Grass is even worse. There are two unnecessary colors you can get rid of to get two brighter shades of green to touch up the foreground. The darkest shade on the cloud and the dirt in the fish island. The bottom row could be the middle part sized up twice and touched up. You should also replace the red and pink flowers and just give the orange and purple ones an extra shade to touch up the ones in the front. Quick mock up to give you an idea.
It's a neat concept, but I don't particularly like the idea of purposefully omitting detail like that. I guess it might make more sense in-game, but right now it looks like it might hurt my eyes. :x
Well I'm planning on making everything else pixelly as well as the stages. For example I've been playing with various utilities to try and turn Sonic into a pixelly Mr. Game & Watch-esque stickman. Basically it's just something easy to work with for my first serious hack. Being a complete hack nub, I'm having trouble working the 8x8 tile system. I'm just experimenting and it's entirely likely that this graphical style will be ditched once I come to terms with SonED2.
Well I've basically just been playing around with ASM and shit for the past week (I'm gonna have to learn it sometime so it might as well be now), so I've left the extra additions until a later date.
Some people may know of the hack Sonic Boom 2, which was split off the epic failure of the old Sonic 2 Epsilon. Some people may know that Tails looked pissed off on his signpost. Sonic Boom gave me the improved version of the signpost yesterday, I didn't ask for it or anything. So yeah, enjoy.
Nicogens, they don't look bad but they lack the wow factor. They certainly have potential though. Also you may or may not want to edit the rotating palette in CPZ. That CNZ palette is the best in my opinion.
Hey, that's looking pretty good! I especially like the speed-based direction you're trying to take with Labyrinth. Hope that turns out well.
It's actually coming along great; I don't think anyone's done this before. :o Also, I bring you the magic of loops. I know it's cheap, but it works. :v:
