Shadow the Hedgehog inspired by?

    For the longest I wondered is Shadow based on the 3D sonic picture on the the cover of Sonic 3D Blast that was for the European market(sorry for lack of pics, but shame on any sonic fan who don't know what I'm talking bout').

    I suppose the upward pointing spines are vaguely similar, but probably a coincidence.

    Also Shadow is more then likely based on the design of Super Sonic in Sonic Adventure.
