Mario in Sonic 1?

Ohh, now I see. At 1st I thought it looked liked like alien or something. I guess sometimes you just need to take a closer look at things to see them.

 

Looks like it's just coincidence to me. I agree with the first thing Phoebius said. That's just not a mustache there, no matter how you look at it.

 

I can see the mustache, but more then likely it was a coincidence. Oh wait, that's his nose, and not his mustache.

 

I heard they're going to replace Mario's faces in the next Mega Collection, after reading about this... or not.

 

Maybe Mario was placed there, in order to spite Nintendo, much like in Donkey Kong Country 2, when Sonic's shoes were placed next to a "NO HOPERS" sign in Cranky's Video Game Hero awards. And I might be alone on this one, but when Rika Chou showed a close-up, I thought it looked somewhat like Mallow, from Super Mario RPG.

 

Mallow was made in 1995-1996. This game was made a few years before that.

 

Yeah, I know. It was most likely a coincidence.

Looks like a Space Invader to me.

 

You have to look at the darker portion of the image rather than the lighter portion of the image. The lighter portion of the image is only the face. IMHO, it is easier to see if you look at the head (the darker portion of the image) all at once.

I actually find it pretty amusing, and I saw the Mario face right away.

 

You know, if you flip it upside down, It kinda looks like Toad.
