    Well, might as well let everyone know about the hack I'm working on. Well, actually, it's a series of hacks called "Deja Vu All Over Again." Well, that's the name of the series, but it's actually just a major pallate hack of Sonic 1, 2, and 3&K. Along with that changed pallates, the boss arenas have gone through a make-over. Some make it harder, some easier, some more interresting.

    What's featured in Sonic the Hedgehog: Deja Vu 2 is:

    New pallates for all levels. (Except for Casino Night)
    Boss Arena layout changes.
    Bosses need more hits to kill after every level.
    New level order. (And I mean NEW)
    Slightly altered HUD.
    Sonic 3 pallate on Sonic. ('Cause it's my favorite and it looks good)
    Statistical tweakes on Sonic and Tails. (Sonic goes faster, Tails jumps higher)
    And other stuff I forgot... <.< >.>

    Well, download the patch (for Sonic 2) and tell me what you think!

    Ok some things rated were stupid or their ratings were a bit low or high. Ah well. :\

    Here's my review.

    Damn, you really meant new level order. I've never seen that style before. Nice one.
    The HUD is a little hard to read on the special stage results screen, so you may want to fix it, at least give it another shade.
    Also, the sun on Waterworks Zone sucks.
    I like the pallete for MZ, it's like I'm in a 30s movie.
    Finally, I love what you did with the boss arenas. Great work.

    All in all, great work. Can't wait to see more.

    Well it's nice to hear that some people like the hack, but there's one thing that's bothering me. That's the music. I can't really seem to find a way to import mp3's to the game. Don't worry, the songs are in order by Level. The songs I really want are:

    Lava Reef Act 1 from S&K for Burning Planes (Emerald Hill)
    Chemical Plant's music can never be replaced. It it the definition of a good Sonic in-game level music.
    Rust Ruin Act 1 from Sonic 3D Blast/ Flicky's Island for Ancient Temple (Aquatic Ruin)
    Carnival Night Act 2 from S&K Collection (for the PC) for Casinopolis (Casino Night)
    Diamond Dust Act 1 from Sonic 3D Blast/Flicky's Island for Cloud Nine (Hill Top)
    Volcano Valley Act 2 form Sonic 3D Blast/Flicky's Island for Subterranian Zone (Mystic Cave)
    Ice Cap Act 1 from S&K Collection (for the PC) for Water Works (Oil Ocean)
    Puppet Panic Act 2 from Sonic 3D Blast/ Flicky's Island for Forbidden Zone/Docking Bay (Metrpolis Zone)
    Launch Base Act 2 from S&K Collection (for the PC) for Night Pursuit (Sky Chase)

    Do you really think you can import mp3s into a genesis rom? :)

    He could use QJimbo's S2MP3 tool, but it's basically useless to him because most of the songs listed can be ported to Sonic 2 using a hex editor.

    Well, not to sound like a total turd or anything, but how do you "port" songs with a hex editor?

    I don't really feel like explain all the specifics here, as it would take up a large amount of space, but Tweaker's music guide gives a good explanation to the music format and how to port between the formats:

    Okay. After reading most of that, I got lost.

    Is there a simpler way to port music at all? Or am I just going to have to deal with no special music?

    Well like S65 said, you could use Qjimbo's Sonic 2 MP3 Tool

    Though most people wouldn't reccomend it, I think it's the only alternative right now.
