Excuse me, WHAT!?!?!

 

Today is the day, boys. It's going to be announced that Keanu Reeves is Shadow.

 

I don't care about the english voices of the characters (in the games) because I almost never get to hear them anyway, but I'm very curious to see who they'll pick for Shadow for this. I hope it's someone as funny and unfitting for his character as humanly possible!

Oh, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow? Wouldn't be the first time he played a motorcycle-wielding cartoon character in a sequel movie.

 

Keanu Reeves had a pretty bad rap in the 90s, with many critics insisting that he was talentless as an actor and only got gigs due to his good looks.

But ever since starring in The Matrix (1999), he's become more respected in the industry. He's even gone on to voice act animated characters in many kids' movies.

 

John Campea says it is Keanu Reeves. He said he got his scoop at an after party at Cinemacon.

The Sonic segment is around 10 minutes into his show currently live

 

Keanu works for me if that is really true.

 

Taking with a grain of salt, but I like it. I think he'd be great in the role.

If it's not true, I assume Tyson will say so in here.

It's not an official annoucement yet. They're just stating their sources also confirm what John reported.

At this point though, it does appear to be Keanu.

 

Usually, when it spreads this much to trades this big, it's true.

Honestly, his films aside? He was brilliant in Cyberpunk 2077, so I'm more than happy to see his take on Shadow. We need fresh blood for the character's voice anyway, TBH. He's also kind of a meme himself at this point, so a highly memed actor playing a meme character gives a lot of room to be... entertaining, at the very least.

Deadline is also reporting on it. They just straight up saying it's him. I was waiting on them.

 

Keanu Reeves being Shadow is one of those hindsight decisions where I go "Wow that is random!" Then I think about it and go "Is it? It actually works!" just like Carey with Eggman
