I know we have scans of the Sonic Bible Draft 2, but do we have scans of the finished Bible? Because otherwise it would be delightful if a winning bid came from someone who can provide scans.
Oh, so that's why Sonic looks like a pine tree when from seen from behind in the UK comics. Turns out it was never off model, it's just that the model they were using sucked.
No mohawk? Was that from after SOA realized that Sonic isn't supposed to have a single row of spikes?
single row of spikes was entirely a dic thing. no idea where people got the idea that it was soa's doing. this bible is from august 1991. i would love to see someone here try their bid on it. the drafts are available, but not this finalized version with stock art. (stock art titles are listed in the drafts, but not the actual art itself). if only i had a couple extra hundred on hand...
I've always loved Greg Martin's art for Sonic (I have a print of his Sonic 3 cover hanging in my bedroom), I never knew he did any paintings without the Mohawk. Wild
i have seen plenty of soa artwork. neither of these are rear or front view, and that second one is from europe.
Spoiler If that's not a mohawk I don't know what is. Edit - They even had the Spinball cover redrawn for the 1994 8-bit port to remove the mohawk, among other changes: https://info.sonicretro.org/File:SonicSpinball_US_CoverArt.png https://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sonic_Spinball_GG_box_artwork.png
the point is not the mohawk. the point is that is not a single row of spikes, multiple pieces and merch of sonic from the rear and front view can be seen that attest to that. but ultimately im not here to debate the american sonic boogeyman, im here to see if anyone is interested in the bible.
I'm interested, but how much do you guys think it's ultimately going to be auctioned for? The high bid a week before live bidding doesn't mean much.
Well, I was bidding on the Sonic bible for a bit early on, but it very quickly went out of my price range once live bidding started. Hopefully whoever won plans on scanning the thing.
