Sonic Frontiers Thread - PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC

I could see this game to be more interesting for modding purposes.
The open zones seem nice to waste time and blow some steam.
I'm also getting a bit tired of SEGA recycling the same old stages...
There may be another trailer or so with more of cyberspace, right?

It has been confirmed her name is Sage. Seems SEGA has put out a new press pack, so be on the lookout for that.

 

A bit off-topic but the Switch version seems a bit worse than I expected at some points.



It's understandable seeing as this is a last-gen console from 2017 running the scope of an open-world game with weather effects, day/night cycle, etc. The lighting, weather, and enemy particle effects still look very good and I wouldn't be worried as long as the performance is fine but I can see this being an underperforming port.

 

The red squares make me wonder if she's related to Infinite or the Phantom Ruby. Maybe she's a creation or embodiment of the latter? Like Infinite was originally going to be in Forces.

 

If this is legit, this is the cutest world-ending threat Eggman ever tried to harness

 

Well, we know that the Phantom Ruby has been off the table in the IDW comic, sooooo...

 

Which would be weird. I mean, it’s not like the comics are canon to the games. So what does it matter if they used the phantom Ruby for a potentially different purpose?

Pretty sure they don't want IDW to diverge from the games when it comes to game characters and elements.

When we first got those flyovers, I knew those tall ring towers were the cyberspace gates and basically no one believed me lmao

 

I never doubted they might be so.

Also, if someone were capable of extracting the BGM alone from the trailer so we could hear it on full...

 

So, is that Highway cyberspace level meant to be Skyscaper Scamper, Speed Highway, or something new altogether? I think it is meant to be Empire City, but I honestly can't tell.
Those glitchy and distorted highway visuals look banging though

 

I am strangely excited with the hypothesis of this ghost-AI-girl-Sage-thing to be related to the Phantom Ruby. I would love to see where did that fuckery come from.

 

So, the villain name is literally an anagram of Sega?
