Sonic sports game for Genesis?

    I was looking at a scan of the March 1995 issue of Game Players magazine and found this little tidbit that isn't familiar.

    I know it's most likely this never existed and was just a fake rumor that magazines so often reported on, but the way they word it makes it seem like it was in the news already, possibly not only being reported by them. Anyone recognize it? I'm assuming this isn't known already heh.

    Oh, woah. I never ever heard of it until now at all.

    They even give examples, as if they knew about it, hm. Well, but I belive it never came to exist at all.

    If it was indeed in development, there might exist a prototype somewhere... The thing is, where to get it.

    They are obviously talking about Superstars Tennis. Man, it must have been in development hell! :v:


    But still, Ristar. At that point what would the "Sega Superstars/Allstars" be? Who from Sonic side as well as the general Sega side would be in that roster?

    Pretty much everyone that was in that, I'd say.

    EDIT: Just to clarify, at least half of the people in ASR are from 1995 or earlier.

    How easy can he play sports out of water?

    And I don't think SEGA had the rights to use Treasures characters, did they?

    Noone's mentioned, but Sonic Sports looks like it was gonna be a 32X game, the paragraph is about 32X.

    Well, duh. At least half of the stuff Sega promised for 32X never happened. Hell, there are two others in this paragraph alone (X-Men for the 32X and the Sega Neptune). :v:
