Greetings world, I'm Salem the Engineer

Before I start talking about myself I would like to talk a little bit about why I decided to join Sonic Retro. The one main reason I decided to join is to get into the Sonic Retro Hacking Community, and hopefully get some of my questions answered there. I'll talk a little more on that once my membership has been validated.

I'm not sure how I'll actually contribute to the community, hopefully in the near future I would like to start a project with all the great members of this site that will follow me until the end. But as of this post, I have nothing planned YET for this community. As soon as I have my one hacking question answered, I would probably and most definately post on what I have been working on. But again, as for an original project, I have nothing planned, more things to come! (sorry for repeating myself my English sucks). I hope I make a lot friends on this community.

Now to talk a little bit about myself, hopefully I won't reveal anything embarrasing as I write this. I'm from the United Arab Emirates, I live in is Dubai which is city, not a country (common mis-conception). Their is the tallest building in the world, you might've seen it in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol where Tom Cruise literally climbs the bulding. Ever since I was a kid, I never actually relised that I was being lied ti by my brother and sister. How was I lied? Well let's just say I thought the 80s TMNT series was new at the time. What happend was that we had a collection of VHS tapes that would fill up almost three closets, yep that many. My brother and sister would pop in a VHS tape without me knowing, and cartoon shows from the 80s would start, which again, I though was current. Everytime an episode of my favorite show would end on the VHS tape, I would ask my sister: "When is the next episode?", she would reply: "Next week.". So I wait next week, she would pop in another VHS tape without me knowing AGAIN! Then the next episode would play. So yeah, I was watching shows that I thought were current, but were actually older than me. But in all honesty, I have to thank my brother and sister. Without them, I wouldn't know about awesome shows like Swat Cats, ThunderCats, TMNT and many more. Right now I'm sixteen-years-old, and start to focus on life much more than I did before. Even though I'm done with exams, and hopefully I get above average IGCSE grades, sometimes when I'm really bored I actually study believe it or not. But I'm doing it for myself not for school. My username is based on what I want to become in the near future, which is electrical engineering. Right now, I'm researching a lot and reading about on my future which I hope to accomplish. So far I have almost become familiar with all things physics related, however my mathematics needs improvement, still working in that! Right now, in terms of education, I'm really nervous about taking the IB course. But as long as I can get a scholarship and hopefully get into a university in the United States, hopefully somewhere in Seattle (I love the place!), that's all that matters.
Here's a little to how I was introduced to Sonic the Hedgehog. This was way back in the year 2001, I was five-years-old. I remember my brother popping in the Sonic & Knuckles Collection which was for the PC. Everytime I was a bout to start up the game, my sister would always tell me to choose Sonic 3 & Knuckles, because the other 2 lack some features. Once I was done with the game 100%, I wanted more Sonic action. So my brother brings in Sonic CD, and honestly it was great but not on the same level as Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I saw my brother had two more Sonic games which were Sonic R and Sonic 3D Blast. Regardless to what people thought about those two games, I loved them. So in the end I never really experienced the Sega Genesis that much as a kid, I remember going to my cousins house and saw it, but never really played it. I was more of a PC and Nintendo kid back then. One thing that I absolutely love are comic books. One comic I love is Batman, after watching the 90s animated series I was like: "I have to read this comic!" After reading the issues I owned, I was hooked. As for the animated adaptations I love Batman: The Animated Series, I had mixed reactions with The Batman cartoon, As for the Brave and Bold I have nothing to say. Another superhero that I admire is Spider-Man, in terms of comic books I have the same amount of love for it as Batman. However in terms of animations, all of them suck except for Spectacular Spider-Man, which I am so depressed that it got cancelled.
This is going to be a very short closing paragraph, in which I talk about the things I dislike. I hate people that are extremely retro, by that I'm referring to people that hate Superman's costume in Man of Steel. Another minor thing I hate using is Japanese terms, when I talk abount "Anime" I say Japanese cartoons, when I talk about "Manga" I say Japanese comics. However those terms don't compare to the hate I have for terms such as "Yaoi", "Yuri", oh and "Otaku" (I HATE THAT LAST TERM). One last thing that I also hate is smart-ass answers, whenever I ask a question that I REALLY have no idea about, I get extremely annoyed when I get smart-ass answers. Whenever I get those type of answers, I wish to go to the person and just punch them so hard in the face they would get into a comma. So PLEASE, none of that. I also hate the New York Knicks, and Denver Nuggets. LAKERS AND CELTICS FTW!
So that's a little about myself, I hope to hear from you guys!
