Sonic Colo(u)rs Ultimate released for Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Epic Games Store

I just ordered the digital version. Play it 3 days early and get gold gloves and electric boost. Good enough. If I need to get this later on for the box art I'll get the standard version on sale

 

Are the "Digital Deluxe" extras going to be completely unavailable for physical edition buyers? Is Digital Deluxe pre-order only, or will it still be around later?

 

I mean I believe they've always made initial launch content available through other means. I doubt that'd change here.

 

Hopefully it's a bit more like the Casino Night Zone DLC from Generations and not the Shadow & SEGA Avatar outfits from Sonic Forces. I mean, most of the stuff is Sonic Movie stuff, maybe they'd release it as a paid extra later closer to the movie's release.

I love having this stuff.

 

Excuse YOU, they never made the tron suits available for any version of Rise of Lyric other than the pre-order copy! FAKE FAN!

And to that end, weren't the Tron suits an Amazon exclusive?

 

OK, any reservations I might have had regarding lighting are pretty much gone; it's different and definitely not deficient. Looking forward to this.

 

Still wanna see the end of tropical resort act 2 lol. That one got roasted in here it looked so dark and washed out lol. Act 1 is looking fantastic, so I really wanna see act 2 now.

 

It's called Digital Deluxe for a reason. It's all Day 1 DLC that comes with it, so if you don't want the game and DLC four days early just wait.

 

They've re-done a lot of the shaders, lighting and other effects from scratch, not that I really know exactly what that entails. And it looks like at least some models (the trees in Planet Wisp) and textures (the frosted blue glass flooring Tropical Resort) have been higher quality versions. The latest trailer makes the game look pretty nice, and it's clearly a bit more than just a Wii game in HD with too much bloom. Too much bloom yes, but the end result isn't bad with everything else that they've done. Considering everything that they've done to clean up the game, I don't mind that it only runs at 30fps on Switch. If it looked closer to the original game (or like the awful reveal trailer), then I'd be less forgiving.

My opinions on this port have changed quite considerably from the reveal to the point where I'm no longer sure that this will be an outright bad port. But I still want to see more raw gameplay footage, because some of the E3 stuff was pretty shaky. And the reveal trailer was awful.

 

Here's the Switch version of the trailer. Same thing but with one key difference. No 60 fps to be had here.

 

Was literally just wondering if the Switch version would be 60fps. Guess it's just gonna be 30 since they went out of their way to remove it from the Switch version of that trailer.

 

Looks like Sonic's eyes still aren't rigged. They seem to always be looking straight ahead.

Guess it's minor in the grand scheme, but it's still a downgrade, and he still has that super bright skin tone.

 

The best part of all this will be the hacking scene removing the changes and fixing bugs. SHC 2022 will be especially interesting.

 

Don't expect anything from modding, unless someone's really wanting to get internet clout.
+ - Besides, why would you revert changes when they're all for the betterment of the game when you could just reimplement the stuff the devs might might fail to notice  

 

Probably for the same reason people reimplemented the low-poly Dreamcast models in SADX. Purism
