Great article. The stuff about the missing Revision B and seemingly abandoned localisation is fascinating. Did you look through all the 1992/1993 issues of Gamest during your research?

Also, is anyone able to extract/clean up the Mighty and Ray sketches?

 

I'll give a go at redrawing these tomorrow. From what I've tried so far though, they're shitty drawings overall lol (Like I'm tracing them, some of it might not be accurate but the overall evaluation is shit)

 

That Mighty drawing makes it even more clear that his legs were originally supposed to be skin-colored.

 

Tail too. I think the idea was that the black parts were in shadow, because of his shell.

 

I wanted to take a crack at it. It's really hard to see those, gee whiz.

Mighty's tan legs is the new Sonic's blue arms :specialed:

 

Mighty's shell is consistently one of the hardest things to get the shape of across, especially as such a weirdly-curved 3D object. I can't imagine it's much easier in drawing.

(actually, I've tried drawing him, and it sucks)

 

Wouldn't it be possible to just remove everything in the scan which isn't pink?
