Here's a video with my take on the Sonic CD Prototype music (primarily focused on Salad Plains Past, and Collision Chaos Past in the v0.51 build)
I wanted to add that when you make your way over to the right of the stage when using the Above hack ,,,there is an enemy that has some strange movements. maybe its nothing its almost as though there is a walking animation.... ( but using the graphics of the scorpion like badnik that jumps out of the water. Could it be this?! And there is a second badnik that looks like the uni cycle type ant but its all white.
I just wanted to give a big thank you to drx and co. This release made my weekend even better! So thank you to all involved!
I was gonna post, I did find one other weird Nemesis archive with some weird art in it: Zero clue what it is. It looks like a flipper or something?
In our now kinda-wrong development page there are still a couple of "builds" that are unaccounted for: ...maybe?
Looks like something that pops out of the ground like in CCZ where the springs pop out! Could be wrong, could be something that spins,,, MasterEmerald Finished it off by Rotating Chunks by 180 Degrees, Except we don't know where the Hinge thing goes....
The ArtLoadCue table for R11A is located at 0x20E00A in v0.02 (the file has a base address of 00200000 because it gets loaded in Mega CD 68k RAM). Those weird tiles are referenced by the load cue at 20E0DE and gets loaded at $92A0 in VRAM. There's another Nemesis archive that's referenced within that load cue that's located at 0x23227E. It's the art for the water splash. Wonder if the two are related?
Looks too flat to be a surfboard, and the hinge right next to the art seems to imply it's supposed to be some sort of mechanism. What confuses me most is how it appears to be something that's coming out of the background and getting bigger.
Maybe R2 only existed as level art and maps? Since this is such an early build, and it already has references to most of the levels, I imagine a lot of stuff was done outside of actually putting it in the game.
Little late to the party, but I can't tell you guys how excited I am that new Sonic CD discoveries are being made, especially in regards to music. Having at least one past track in CD quality is amazing.
It's similar but the tiles disappear on the ground level. BTW that gif was made with the object in front of the FG layer. With so much missing it couldn't be used as a door for the tubes.
