Ugh so that's some terrible handwriting. My best guess is:

    肩をすくめたポーズのまま落ちて行く。

Something like "Falls down with shrugged shoulders"? Someone with more experience reading crap handwriting can correct me :V

You've got it right. I'm guessing maybe one reason it was dropped is it's a bit too Looney Tunes in nature when you think about it, like if he reached the end of a cliff and looked back at the player. Random holes in special stages doesn't sound like it'd look right, either.

Looks to me like something that would happen when failing the Special Stage, but who knows.

    ALWAYS Sonic the Fighters
With the recent release of Lah modelsheets from Night of the Werehog, I remembered some old interviews that need to be added to the wiki, specifically under the Night of the Werehog section. TSSZ used machine translation of a developer update that included some nice tidbits about the Dreamcast going unused and with good development images. There's also some Werehog concept art that should go on the werehog or unleashed section of the wiki.

In fact, as tedious as it may be, we may want to archive both these blogs regarding Werehog/Unleashed development. Though there may be more blogs considering they both fall under the SonicWorldAdventure url.

Someone in the Hidden Palace Discorc discovered this very recently. The one image of Sonic with Madonna seems have come from a Genesis scaling and rotation tech demo, not a Sonic 1 prototype.

And interestingly enough, another video of it was found from another person, and is has old Green Hill music apparently:

Apparently, this ROM was made for the 1990 Tokyo Toy Show, but was later used for use as a TeraDrive demo.

And another TeraDrive demo with Sonic 1 music:

I'm going to message him. Please don't bother him for a ROM. I'll see what I can do.

Is it me, or the last video shows a Sonic-like color fade-out at the end?

Hey, the rhythm in Spring Yard's music is slightly different than usual!

Well, it's Naka's demo, so it makes sense. Ghouls 'n' Ghosts and Phantasy Star II also do that.

Yeah I have them but looks like Ice Knight found it.
Also something missing from the Wiki thing, and since I don't know how to post there. These 2 Hirokazu Yasuhara Concept images surfaced some years later.
If someone would be so kind as to upload em for me here: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_X-treme_concept_art#Hirokazu_Yasuhara_Concept_Art That would be great!

Wow... that's an awesome finding... and only days after the Sega Multimedia Studio surfaced ... can we blame destiny?...

Sorry for the double post... I was distracted with this...

I found this old promo thing from the Daily Mirror, 23 November 1993: https://imgur.com/a/TJyMCF7

    (Please excuse the photo quality.)

It's well documented that this is the day Sonic CD, Sonic Spinball and Sonic Chaos launched in North America, but it seems that this was the UK (and Europe?) release date as well. Is this a known thing?

You're doing well, Retro - keep up the good work.

And OutRun. Which might be interesting if that part was also at the Tokyo Toy Show, because the Mega Drive port of that game didn't arrive until August 1991 (after Sonic).

I suspect that might not be the case though.

Does anybody know if the "Tagataga" name or the concept art descriptions give any specific hints on what this aquatic Sonic CD badnik is supposed to represent exactly?
I'm inclined to believe that it's supposed to be a water scorpion:
They even gave it kind of a regular scorpion-ish shape for its non-claws.

Then again, it could also be a water bug, as the wiki currently says:

    Any ideas?

No problem. I remember covering this a while back -- the names on those concept pieces are just straightforward descriptions of the kind of insect each enemy is a "mecha" of.
