Since I was the one who uploaded that map, I feel the need to join this conversation. That map, along with many others, has been made by Rolken: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index....e-map-reverse-engineering-and-ram-data.10063/ We all assumed that being the result of a data extraction, those maps would all be correct, but it turns out that it was pointed out before, but nobody replaced it at that time.
the official Sonic 1 and 2 US Strategy guide includes hand drawn maps of all the acts in both Sonic 1 and 2, would people be interested in those as well?
Yes but only because we'd want scans of the whole book p.s. those Blue Sphere maps mentioned in the first post came through. So that's a thing. We still require better versions of almost everything else though (+Sega Retro) (+NEC Retro)

Just making sure, what's the site rules regarding actually dumping an entire book? Is it a-ok? I don't mind scanning the entire book today, just want to make sure it's not going to be for waste if mirroring such a book is not allowed though.
I think the policy on most of this is "we'll host it until somebody complains". We've got other books on Sonic Retro and nobody's yet to kick up a fuss.
Basically this. A lot of times we can't really get to the right folks for authorization on published materials because much like video games, there's been a lot of consolidations and mergers in publishing over the past 30 years. As a result, it basically becomes "as long as this isn't clearly messing with someone's revenue streams, sure, throw it up there".

There's no indication from the original source that these are from the Game Gear version (although it most certainly looks like they are). Still, confirmation either way would be nice. And so would a set of Master System maps. And so would a set for each of the three prototypes we just got.
Making Sonic 2 comparison pages. Again. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)/Maps Most of our (final) Sonic 2 maps don't have objects. Points to whoever fixes that.
I noticed on the Sonic 2 map article that the 2013 mobile version of Proto Palace isn't listed. Apologies for complaining without solution, but I'm unsure of the best way to rip those level maps.

Now on TCRF (which admittedly has had this "feature" for ages), they've got 4839204832049832 separate cropped-up images for comparing layout changes. We can crop images on the wiki itself, so we only need the full map to get the same result. It's all looking pretty good I'd say.
Some have been on the wiki for years, possibly as a result of this topic. I didn't personally get any maps (if I had the time and patience to learn, I'd have got maps from the other builds too).
I got the ball rolling with doing TCRF's approach at comparisons, but with the wiki's own cropping techniques to save uploading cut-up maps: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (prototype; 1993-11-03)/Comparisons/Angel Island Zone Problem is, there are no maps with object layouts available for the Sonic 3 prototype, and I don't have the time or knowledge on making them. Having the maps would be heavily appreciated.
