Triple Vinyl set which comes in 3 colours. Expecting to ship in September. Additionally, the Japanese OST is the only one being sold here. The soundtrack is featured over five sides, and the unused side has a "bespoked etching" on there. https://data-discs.com/products/sonic-cd
New looping versions! Neat! Kind of weird how the tracks end with another loop and a fade out, instead than the proper ending, though.
Man, they went back a few generations. I'd expect Sonic Cassette or Sonic 8-Track first :P + - Let me have my dad joke, it's been a long week. If I had a record player, I'd pick this up.
I have a record player. This release seems like 2011 2.0 to me. It's a lack of proper ending to the tracks and nothing that I haven't heard before that puts me off from this release.
I was on my break when I saw this pop up on twitter and I pre-ordered it without a second thought. Data Discs is the best.
Looks pretty sweet. Only major downsides for me are the lack of You Can Do Anything/Cosmic Eternity, but given the rights issues I can understand why.
As the Sonic CD JP King, this pleases me very much. Just more proof that the JP OST will always be better than US OST. We got a sick ass vinyl.
Not to derail the thread with fan craft but Spoiler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFrKSWwAecQ&list=PLwE0Ka0tkrvgJF5dcj0Oz-1CWjKMNXxot
Sonic CD has been a misnomer since 2011. ...Unless that "chrono distortion" thing is legit, which I doubt.
May as well call the game "Sonic The One That Came After Sonic 2 But Before Sonic 3" now. Digital release of the remake and now this.
Pre-ordered my copy. I love this soundtrack more than any other. Reprints are rare btw, If you want this I really wouldn't piss about, Data Disc releases sell out ridiculously quickly and rise in value as a result. Still kicking myself for not getting a copy of Outrun when it came out, but this will go nicely with Super Hang On and Streets of Rage.
So, anyone wanna do a hardware mode to a Sega CD that has it run vinyl instead? Certainly would be perplexing to wonder if any games would actually work like that.
Whoops! I forgot Nintendo held onto that a little longer. I always like to reference SCD as Sonic 1.5.
This is cool, but anyone else think the art is a little off? Would much rather have the psychedelic background and 90s rave logo of the European release, than that ugly gross re-release chequerboard. Then I'd buy it.
