Which is funny, considering all the other little Classic Sonic nods they include that. What a weird easter egg.
It's also possible the Dunkey Easter egg was just a joke during development that they forgot to remove before sending off the build.
Whahey! I took a break from PS4 Mania, but the update's certainly brought me back to start cracking out some Time Trials and make a stab at the Leaderboards. Can't wait to start perfecting some runs.
Does playing one of the UFO special stages 'fix' the problem? I wonder if the hardware sees the low CPU use and decides to drop to a lower power mode which ends up being too low.
Bah, it'd be nice if secret updates didn't keep deleting things. No GHZ shortcut for Knuckles, no random monitor/teleport in debug mode, no weird-ass Youtube reference that would have been fun to come back to in 10 years. Totally agree. The on-screen prompt is so tacky; a bug ugly reminder of whatever controller you're currently using, looks nothing like the rest of the HUD.
To be fair to all of these, they're all kinda bugs to begin with so deleting them is kinda fair I'd say. The fact that they didn't remove any of the unused content and let us find it makes me really happy though, so that's cool. As far as the Dunkey reference goes I'm gonna miss it too, but I speculate it was added in without permission and had to be taken out immediately lol! Makes me wonder if every update is gonna have a "secret message" from TaxStealth that we have to find before SEGA tells them to take it out.....
Meanwhile, on the Nintendo Switch eShop.... US Best-Sellers: Europe Charts: Over a month since release, and it hasn't dropped out of the top five. Nintendo Everything's weekly NA eShop Switch charts has had Mania at #1 for the first three weeks; after it was dethroned by Mario + Rabbids for the #1 spot, it's consistently held at #2. I think its possible it could end up as the #1 best-selling Switch eShop game again for September.
Count me in the same boat. Did Dunkey make that sound in one of his videos? What's the story of that sound?
I liked the easter egg. I got the reference... It was so well hidden i don't see why they had to remove it...
Stealth made a blog post, but didn't talk about the Dunkey easter egg. instead it was to shed light on the 2 things that were found in the game, Egg Janken and the SP500 ink objects. Turns out Egg Janken was a prototype boss left over from the demonstration showed to Iizuka and the first boss ever made for mania.
