I think that's why Eggette works better. It's imaginative since she's just an upside down Robotnik, but you can easily see where the design comes from and you can still see the original design if you look at the Eggette sketch upside down. This one isn't as grounded and a bit forced, although I can kinda see it.
Well I thought it was funny at the time, and I still have a giggle now when I see it. Normally when people see things within things that weren't there, aren't they normally considered creative? Not sure if it's true, but whatever... ...I enjoyed it =S
It is creative, I think it's just a bit too out of touch from the original source that might make it harder for some to get.
For me it's because of the imagination of trying to see that in the boss - it's so ridiculous it's funny. That last picture is too fucking hilarious It's that grin, too good :v:
Huh. I've seen it get some mileage around /v/ from time to time and still gets reposted. Unless that is just one 'someone' endlessly reposting..
Gonna second Eggatha, but also throw in Agatha Robotnik. Imagine her in her bedroom, drawing robots: "Perfect! This is just what Uncle Eggman needs to defeat that rat, Sonic!" "Agatha, time for dinner, honey!" "EGGATHA! I changed my name to EGGATHA, Mom!" "Alright, Eggatha, time for dinner!"
The one thing I really like about Eggatha is the fact that for a human character her design doesn't look out of place with the rest of the cast (mainly because she's basically Eggman upside down). I think this highlights the issue that not enough care was taken with human designs past Eggman and I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to even crack it.
I guess the secret is to make the proportions and design elements roughly in line with 1930s cartoons, like Sonic himself. Someone could've thought of that sooner.
Oh, hey. Fuuunny question here, but can someone tell me a better image host? Photobucket screwed me over. (And a whole bunch of other people on the internet, turning countless ancient threads into graveyards)
I really hope Team Maina embraces this character if there is a sequel, IMO too good of a design to pass up on.
Sorry for being a party pooper, but I'd rather they didn't. I liked the fun fanart pics of her, but I'd be happy if the official games kept not using fan characters. You can probably tell I'm not a fan of Forces' Custom Hero feature. Besides, I can see her ending up becoming another Scrappy if Sega used her, just like Bowser Jr.
She'd make a good character in the comic universe though. Maybe not in the context of Eggmans niece but maybe just a big fan? There was a character like that in the post reboot Archie universe.
