Spoiler Another thing, the sound effect of the funnels that lead to the lotto machine and the electrical wiring teleport in Studiopolis make the same sound as the spinning bowls in Casino Paradise and Angel Island from Sonic Advance.
I love everything about this game other than the final zone. It's godawful, goes on forever and when I game over I keep going back to Act 1. You can laugh and say I suck, but it's horrendous.
Same situation. I WISH it saved at every act! I do suck, however. I've had so many game overs, and it's quite hard to get additive lives late into the game.
Loving the game so far, though it goes to prove just how rusty I am. In + - FBZ2 I got a time over at the boss, and got killed several times during the fight due to me not being able to get the timings down. I just beat the final boss and levels, im going to post my personal tips for beating it later on. Im sure there are other folk who sucked aa much as I did :p
really? Not trying to bust your chops here but I actually thought it was a pretty breezy final Zone. I was kind of surprised it was the last stage. The only obnoxious part to me was the multiple corridors in act 2. But even those went by pretty quickly to me. The only zone in the game I'm not in love with so far is Hydrocity. it just feels too much like the original to me. Some neat ideas, but not enough to give it that unique edge imo. But the game's been great so far! Just beat it with both Sonic and Knuckles.
I wasn't too hot on Hydrocity either. It was a good level, but not as good as 3AK's version I loved some of the other remastered levels though
A little off-topic, but does anyone know a good place to get the That's a Two-fer trophy? (Unveil two item boxes at once with a goalpost) It's the last one I need. I've been trying GHZ for a while but I'm honestly not convinced that it has more than one
So there's a debug level select menu via code on the title screen. I was able to access it twice but i have no idea how I did it. I thought it was the Sonic 1 level code but I can't get it to happen again. Also, completed the game with good ending as Sonic & Tails
Speaking of aping Freedom Planet: Spoiler TMZ2 is sooooo totally not inspired by Final Dreadnought... oh, who am I kidding, it absolutely is.
Studiopolis 2 boss ending is an amazing reference. After the battle is over, the TV in the background shows 072216 which happens to be the date of the 25th Anniversary party and the day the game was announced. What's even cooler is when it shows the BBC style test card, the sound is very akin to that annoying drone sound that was playing over the stream of the 25th Anniversary party.
