Wow. Never new the game got (or needed) any updates. Off the top of your head any idea what they were? Or just issues that would only be present in mobile versions?
The Quality check is so weird. From what I've heard, the game can be an utter 2/10, so long as the instructions and game are consistent with Nintendo guidelines (writing 'Gamepad', 'Nintendo Wii U Console' instead of just 'the console', etc). Even something like Mighty No 9 on Wii U which supposedly crashed systems got the pass? Maybe the seal of approval should be changed to the 'We're Aware This Is A Thing'.
Hard crashes aren't supposed to get the pass, which has caused some games, such as Freedom Planet, to be delayed or removed from the eShop until these crashes are fixed. If MN9 got a pass, it's because the crashes were missed in Nintendo's QA testing.
People had concerns over stuff and some stuff wasn't 1:1 with the original CD that Taxman said would be fixed, however would not be the console versions. So, just quality improvements really.
Don't forget that games like Meme Run made it onto the Wii U's Eshop as well. So when Nintendo wasn't being OVERLY particular, they were being very, very lax. :v:
Am I the only one who keeps misreading Dimension Heist as "Diamond Heist"? :v: While I doubt a Sonic 3 remaster would be coming along that soon, is it too much to hope for PC versions of 1 & 2 after Mania?
Knowing SEGA... Also fuck those people who say "but you can emulate android on your PC and play them"
And Sonic CD has, like, 350k owners on Steam, it seems: http://steamspy.com/app/200940 I mean, what the hell, Sega! You don't like money? Let me give you money!
Ya I've tried Bluestacks and for whatever reason it just sucks. Just give me a proper release and I will give you money Sega. You get money, Taxman and co gets money, I get the definitive versions of Sonic 1 and 2. Everyone wins.
How much did Sonic CD sell on the actual MEGA CD, anyway? I'm rather curious how the modern sales figures stack up against back in the day.
Didn't they have an exclusivity deal when the remakes were released (which didn't count mobile apps)? https://youtu.be/S26_mL8U8bg?t=29m39s
I'm sorry if this has been discussed already and I'm just super late to the party (I haven't been around here in the past couple weeks), but when I was listening to the new special stage theme I saw this: That mixer looks familiar... + - Congrats Falk on also having a hand in Mania! I'm even more excited now. I can't wait for August 15th to get here anymore EDIT: Again I haven't been active online in a little while (real life stuff, trip out of town, etc.), but is there any word on a digital or CD release of the soundtrack? I've already pre-ordered the vinyl, but I need to get it on my phone somehow.
The most common sales figures I've seen was that it sold 1.5 million (mind you, this was on a peripheral that sold 2.5 million--so while the Mega CD didn't do well overall, that's pretty much more than half of the peripheral's entire sales, which is pretty damn solid). Unfortunately, most of the modern sources (including a Guinness World Records page) seemed to have grabbed their source from VGChartz (lol). The 1.5M sales figure is also said to have cited from an old Sega magazine (Mega UK, Issue #17), but that page (let alone that issue) hasn't been archived online. So unless we can actually get a proper upload of that page/issue, that sales number is pretty dubious IMO. Yes. They are now free to release the remasters on other platforms now that the exclusivity deal is over. It's worth noting that Taxman and SoA's original plan for a new classic Sonic release was to bundle the existing remasters with a small new game, before Iizuka turned it down and pitched the Mania concept as a replacement.
I use Nox which seems to be the best one out there. Bluestacks was too hard to set up, HandyAndy was a bit too resource intensive, but Nox is pretty much perfect. But yeah, a proper PC version of the remakes would be for the best and I'm positive they'd sell well.
