Rad indeed. Pretty awesome they got him back for Mania. Genuinely believed he was done with Sonic. His art looks amazing too. He's still got it.
This just sets apart Generations/Forces Classic Sonic and the REAL Classic Sonic ^ It's like they are two separate entities no matter how hard Sega screams that they are the same.
That sketch is amazing. Can't wait to see Ohshima's final artwork. More and more this project continues to get a little more awesome. Literally the only thing missing from Mania that could make it the perfect match made in nirvana for Genesis Sonic fans is Hirokau Yasuhara being involved. Is he even aware of Mania's existence? He has a Twitter handle (which he only recently began actively using), but the only notable classic-era Sonic-stuff I've seen him re-post are Sonic 2/CD sketches.
Very unexpectedly, I'm gonna be the guy. I hope he gets back the hang of drawing Classic Sonic before any art is finalized, because those proportions and shapes seem to be all over the place.
Man, I still love this artwork. If sega could somehow nail a 90's airbrush hyper saturated style for new Sonic then we'd be golden.
I will at least admit, the one on the left seems very tall. But they're just sketches, and just the fact he's making art for this game is pretty cool.
They're really going all-out with making this an authentic classic Sonic experience. Now all we need is for Michael Jackson to write the new IceCap, Yuji Naka to make the time travel instantaneous, Aaron to add Sanic as an unlockable character and it'll be Sonic 4 as we truly, truly imagined it.
I'm sorry to break this to you, but one of those is truly impossible now. Naka's not THAT great of a programmer. :v:
Sorry for interrupting but Eggman would have recycled those broken badniks in Flying Battery Zone into some nasty traps.
