Would be too stupid even for Sega to put modern design characters in the merchandising of a game using exclusively classic design.
The merchandise isn't all for Mania. It's just that there's some Mania merchandise included amongst it.
Only the towel is from Mania. Plus, they had the 25th anniversary crystal cube that had Classic Sonic and little Modern Sonic figurines as bonuses for Fire & Ice. That's not even counting that it's not really stupid at all.
That's actually the reason why I thought it wasn't real. I own up to my mistakes, and that was a whopper of one.
Seriously let's stop talking about a towel now. Question for admin: When Mania is released, will discussion still strictly be bound to this thread? I can imagine that becoming pretty impossible to keep up with, what with everyone wanting to talk about music, levels, time attacking, reviews, secrets found, and so on. That's on top of the general gushing/ranting/damage controlling/vomiting rainbows. It's gonna be like getting Sonic 3 when you were a kid, but now there's a whole internet to talk to about it... An internet full of people who have waited 20 years for that Sonic 3 and are HYPED. I am hyped like the original trailer for PSO. Hyped.
Same contractors that built Casino Night, I'm assuming. Eggman won't let them unionize so putting Sonic on their shit is their form of silent protest. Fight on, little guys.
That must be it. These contractors just get screwed constantly so they put Sonic on everything. So is Eggman basically the Donald Trump of Sonic world? A rogue real estate man with desires to rule the world building lavish things to himself all over the place, only to screw over those who built it?
It all began with a small loan of a billion Mobiums and space station plans from his father, Gerald Jr. Robotnik. And before anyone asks where Gerald Jr. went, him and Donkey Kong Jr. drove off a cliff during a coke binge, both never to be seen or talked about again.
Surely this question has already been asked a million times with regard to the end-of-act signposts. I imagine it's the same situation.
Some unknown 3rd party is making these signs, item monitors, and worlds. They are on neither side, instead choosing to make multi sided signs to accommodate both of the driving forces in their world.
You were joking, but I love this idea. It's consistent with some of the earliest and most Japanese representations of the character where the whole world just seems to revolve around him. Little Planet even exploded into Sonic's face before warping away. I think that Shogakukan Sonic manga is also the only time I've seen the Johnny Bravo egotism thing played up without being tempered with comic relief at the hero's expense. Was this an important aspect of the character?
Oh man, that's rad. The classic art so far has been great, but to get new art from the original designer is even better. I've been needing new wallpaper for some time now.
