Big isn't the troll card. Big is genuinely an awesome character. He can lift up cars, and is immune to mind control.
I think it's terrible because it seems like Sega is almost manipulating the outcome by matching up popular characters against the more obscure ones.
A lot of brackets work that way, look at March Madness, you get 1 v 16, 2 v 15, 3 v 14, etc. The losers typically get weeded out the first round, then the second round gets more interesting.

I've said before that if they made a mobile Chao game, they'd be raking in money. Anyway, you can count me in as a supporter of Big. He's the hero we need.

Very exciting to see where this could go. In the end, only the best character will take their rightful place on top.

Not true, at least for one pair. Metal Sonic and Blaze I can imagine being a close call, I for one cannot decide between the two! >_<
Yeah, some of them are incredibly hard to call; as well as Blaze and Metal Sonic, there's also Eggman and Amy for example. I'd quite like to see Knuckles or Metal Sonic win this - or Big, of course ;P As long as it's not someone like Shadow the Over-Rated Hedgehog.
Eggman and Amy is a hard call? I thought it was largely agreed upon that main series Amy is useless and annoying while Eggman continues to be one of the strongest characters in the series. It helps, of course, that Mike's been killing it as the good doctor for quite some time now and that until recently, Chikao Otsuka was keeping Eggman as nefarious as ever with that ever appreciated comical tinge.
Metal and Blaze is kinda hard to call, but I'd expect Metal to come out on top really. Eggman will definitely trounce Amy though. Even though Amy is popular, there's no way she'll stand up against Eggman in a popularity contest. Chao, Sticks, Cream and Espio will go out in the first round for sure. After that is when the contest really begins. Big's got a serious chance of going far. I kinda hope he wins. And I want Knuckles to do well too. I'm far too interested in these results honestly. Wish the guys in Japan would take note and realise that the extended cast aren't hated by everyone. It's a matter of using them right and not putting them in shitshitshitty games, both things SEGA spent about 10 years not doing. + - Also why Chao and not a proper character like Omega? Sure, he'd go out in the first round too, but at least he's more a character than a non-specific Chao.
