Hey, people! I noticed many people bump old threads just to talk about new discount prices on Sonic games. As most of those threads are already dead it's not too nice to have them popping out on the top of the page. So, why can't we have a thread just with sales/special offers? Anway, here's my first link (for the ones wondering if this is safe, I've bought SSART from them, all went good)! Sonic Mega Bundle 75% Off on GetGames – US$ 32.11
I'd totally go for that if I had money and if I ever played shit on PC. Man I need to fix my damn PC.
Well! Better deals! This one is not even on sale! 15 Titles + DLCs for US$39! Sonic Hits Collection on Steam And Sonic games on Gamersgate are on sale up to %80 off! - Beware some are DRM-Free, aka No Steam! Here are just the games that DO activate on Steam
Hmm, that collection doesn't have an end date nor is it listed in the Steam specials. It's probably just a Midweek Madness deal that went up too early though. So expect the Steam pack to be up until Thursday.
$3.40 sounds like a good price for me to triple dip for SA2. How's the PC port? Well optimized, good controls, etc?
The biggest problem to me is that the framerate can't decide if it wants to go 180 FPS or 15 FPS depending on your settings, even with V-Sync enforced. If you find a setting that makes it go roughly 40-60 FPS, I guess you're good to go. :v:
Here its quite alright. Sonic CD and Episode 2 on the other hand run twice as fast. My setup is 120Hz so... Gotta(oo wait I'm not getting suspended for jokes).
The ones I don't have in that Steam deal (Genesis games, the first All-Stars Racing, Casino Nights DLC) would go for $55.47 individually. That's not a HUGE savings, but it still might be worth it... On the other hand, I bet buying Sonic 1 on Steam doesn't include a copy of the remastered version, assuming it even comes to PC.
Yeah, but those don't activate on Steam. That's a HUGE factor to me. Also, since I'm an idiot, I figured Sonic Adventure DX into my own calculations, but forgot to mention it, so more like $18.
At least those are DRM-Free Anyway I updated the link on that post so it includes the Steam offers on that site. Edit: Newpage'd
Ahahah I know DRM-Free is 'good' but Steam is very handy for games! Seriously, I just install Steam on another PC and it does the boring job for me. Also I think it's like the 'gaming Facebook'. I like it!
Heck, you can even run Microsoft Word on it ahahaha! But Steam won't install them for you on new PCs and you can't share screenshots and you can't make backups together with the other steam games :P Running them 'on Steam' or not is the least important thing to me to tell the truth. hahah
