NEW VIDEO http://youtu.be/6wj8TNipIB4 Old updates: [NEW UPDATE]: Showing how Green Gadget can aid Sonic in reaching collectables! View My Video Sonic Gear is a 2.5D Unity3D game I'm working on, designed to be an evolution of Sonic Colors. Sonic will use various gadgets similar to Wisps, but there is a twist to it which I will reveal at a later stage. Here's a video demonstrating the prototype gameplay and the Green Gadget which allows Sonic to fire energy ball projectiles. All assets including the music are done by me except for Sonic himself. The graphics are temporary and will be vastly improved once the gameplay is finished. View My Video EDIT: The animations are fixed! View My Video

It's good to be a part of Retro That comparison gave me a good laugh! Don't worry the spazzy movement is only temporary, I was just hiding the fact that the animations aren't set up properly yet. It will definitely be addressed.
This is hilarious for all the wrong reasons. I'm so sorry. I do suggest changing the music, those random Sonic 3 samples sound extremely out of place with the rest of the tune.
It's not actually related to http://sonicgear.galeon.com/sgmain.html? I thought first that game was finally having some updates.
EDIT #2: New video showing how Sonic can use the Green Gadget to his advantage: View My Video I've actually never heard of that project until now xD I hope they won't mind me using the same name, but I'll change the title if I have to. EDIT: The animations are fixed! View My Video
You really should configure the rolling animation, as it looks quite awkward as it is now. Perhaps if you made all of the other animations more fluid and add more 'in-between' frames to each, it would fall in line properly. Also, how does the Green Gadget work? The video cut off before anything happened.Oops, nevermind. EDIT: Have you considered using Youtube for your vids?
I'd suggest getting Sonic's gameplay solidly in place in a simple test level, before you start adding any scenery or extra moves. Maybe build it on top of an existing Sonic engine like Sonic GDK or Blitz or something.
Yeah I'll switch to YouTube from now on. I didn't think the videos were serious enough for YouTube yet. Once it's further into development I'll upload a lengthy vid. Also it is a test level, I just quickly Maya'd up some temporary scenery so it didn't look completely barren haha. How do I submit to SAGE? Edit: I don't know what happened to the crate pushing video xD
This is a kinder way of saying your music sounds like nails on a chalkboard. Wait, scratch that. Nails on a chalkboard would be more welcome than that looped garbage. Find someone else to do the music for you. Welcome to Retro I guess.
I've actually changed the music since the last video. Which was better? Also the low quality video is making the game look far worse than it really is. I will accept criticism from people who can actually program, but people who haven't even used gcc to compile hello world can get f'd. xD I'm currently polishing the engine further and I have added shields. I won't show anything for awhile. Back on the subject of the music, I'm not a musician. I composed the best I could. It's better than stealing other people's music. :P
What, no, this is not how criticism works. Especially considering the irony that Unity is more spoonfed scripting than code you actually need to compile on your own. No, no no no no no no. It's plain terrible.
