You win +1 internet, thank you very much for doing this. I first read this as "Why is the office full of cocks?" Been hanging around Retro too long. Also, the video was pretty neat. Even the pre-release shit is getting me excited, bring on the game!
Probably not happening unless Taxman codes it. It seems to have taken him something like 3 years to get this out, and S3K is twice as complex. In for the long haul?
I forget if he planned on releasing the SDK to the general public. If he does, maybe someone will take up the mantle and do it.
Also why you release the planet at the end. Destroying the final base (whatever is Metallic Madness or the one that would be the real Final Fever) released the planet.
I'm really glad Hoshino-san was able to share some of these sketches because you can see quite a few things from the R2 stage which was dropped during development. There's a few enemies (the antlion, worm and other thing), the wheel boss and even the rainbow sketch!
It's nice to see Sega with giving some care to old games, and of course Taxman you're a big part of it, so thanks. Seriously Sega needs to make more of these "Developer Diary" things, I'm kinda tired of the documentaries how they released Sonic 1 IN the USA, and the last one was a little bare bones.
I don't know if you can answer this but is there anyway people can watch the cutscenes without it being cropped?
So we got the Wheel/Digger Boss, Aqueducts with rainbow waterfalls, and from the full length ending some looks at ruins caving in with the centipede enemy. This sounds like quite a stage idea.
I really loved watching that developer diary, seeing all the concept art for Sonic CD and the supposed art for R2. I hope there's more where that came from. Are you sure about the rainbow sketch and wheel boss being R2? Did you get some inside info or are just assuming?
