Considering they decided to break in a 3D console with 2D gameplay and levels that seem to provide a poor sense of depth...
I really dislike how the camera always moves, trying to give the player a better view of what's ahead. That problem wouldn't exist if they just zoomed it out.
Lawlno. the current cycle of DIMPS sonic games is the game releases > Fans hate it but reviewers love it > Gets rave reviews > SEGA hires DIMPS to do another sonic game > cycle repeats.

It really is just a race, I'm not going to pretend Generations HD is some beacon of boss design but at the very least Sonic Team made each Rival battle feel unique, Metal Sonic 3DS feels just like Shadow 3DS feels just like Silver 3DS.
I will say, Casino Night Zone Modern really confuses me. It looks like... the Classic version, only with boost! It's a bit better than some of the others, but makes me think they really didn't get the whole differences between Classic and Modern thing. Though in this case that's a good thing, as they actually bothered to include pretty much all the relevant gimmicks in it rather than a series of wooden pathways. @_@
(@some people) Seriously, the fact Classic can homing attack isn't the problem. The fact the level design is atrocious, the music is recycled for the most part (Console remixes and M&S Remixes used for the main levels, is the problem. However, yes, the fact the homing attack is a requirement is a BIG problem, and not just because it's for Classic Sonic, mind you! It's a problem for Modern as well. Now that Classic has the Homing Attack as a means to advance rather than to reach higher paths (which would honestly be perfectly fine!), there's not only no creativity but, as some others said, no diversity either. However... If development for this game was as short as people say it was, no wonder it sucks so much. Admit it guys, NOBODY could make a full game in 13 months. So I guess it's really SEGA/Sonic Team's fault as much as it is Dimps'. :c EDIT: Yes I know many of you said the exact same thing I did, but I did see some people complaining solely because Classic HAS a Homing Attack :v
Actually, the PS2 Ratchet & Clank games and the two latest Assassin's Creed games were made in one year, and there are probably more games with one year dev cycles I can't think of at the moment. :v: Besides that, 2D games take less time to make than the games I just mentioned. I can imagine Dimps being sick of making Sonic games though. Also, Classic Sonic having a homing attack is a valid complaint because it means the only difference between Classic and Modern is that Modern has boost. It's just lazy design.
Maaan, now I'm really sad. Guess my 3DS library is going to be limited to ONE original game this year...
Nono its not just Retro, SSMB and other sonic related forums I've been to generally tend to give DIMPS a bad favor. how they sell well is beyond my reasoning...
Yeah, it's not like there's a demographic of consumers who buy things on brand name alone and never do any prior research.
Which is what I meant by lack of diversity ;P I call bullshit. No really I do. Creed made in 1 year? With everything it has? Granted many assets were already there, but...
Not to mention Advance 2 and 3 were probably made in a year. While people can argue all they want about the quality of those games, at least they looked much more well thought out than this game.
So even if Classic has an elemental shield, he still does the homing attack. Dimps really missed a lot of points here...
I think they nailed Casino Night Zone pretty well. I mean, it really was always a boring lifeless level that was only considered interesting for the gambling.
Well, aside from the dipshit placement of spikes, and the fact that spinning Eggman in the slots doesn't cause you to lose all your rings.
Well, at least a lot of the remixes in the 3DS version will be very worth listening to.
I just double-checked the wiki and you've only ever lost 100 rings by getting 3 Eggmans. To their credit nothing is wrong in that regard (though if you want to get REALLY nitpicky the ring counter does not appear to deplete incrementally anymore).
