So the physics for the diagonal springs are fixed as well? What about the pinball flippers in Collision Chaos?
It'll have opened a door to all sorts of stuff :D Late 2011? Probably round about the same time as Generations I'd say.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but it would explain why Episode II has been taking so long to get out the door.
OK, we're kind of straying into the "talking too much" territory. I'll just answer this generally and leave it at that. Certain obvious things have been improved, and some other things have been left alone in order to keep Sonic CD's flavour. Overall, there's some cool stuff and I guess at this point the best thing to do is to watch for some coverage at PAX. It's up to SEGA's community and marketing heroes to provide the further details.
A version of Sonic CD that plays more like Sonic3K physics/control-wise is basically exactly what I would want from a project like this. Guaranteed purchase.
Taxman I love you, though I hardly know you. A Retro style fan project getting sanctioned and released by Sega... insane. I'll buy it the morning it gets uploaded to XBLA. Wish we had a release date.
I'll back off then. We don't want to spoil anymore surprises after all. That said, I look forward to seeing some footage from PAX.
Oh, cool. I'll probably get the PC version, though I need to get an xbox or ps3 for generations at some point anyway. This stuff about the retro engine is very cool too
What I want to know now is will the Retro Engine be used for Sonic 4? If so perhaps we might have a taste of Sonic 4 as we truly imagined it XD
I just watched that trailer on my phone. Ridiculous. Probably the most terrible trailer I've seen in a while, though it at least showed off gameplay. I'm curious what sort of filter this will use and how nice it will look on a high def television.
That was a really really weird trailer. Aside from that, it's Sonic CD. I will be buying this one way or another. EDIT: Whoa at all of these updates, I'm even more excited about this after hearing Taxman had a big hand in this!
I'll definitely be buying this at some point. Since a Steam version wasn't announced (I wonder why considering that the Retro Engine can do OS X too) I guess they want people to be using Windows Live DRM instead. Not that I'm particuarly bothered, this is a remastered edition and many people have been waiting for a release like this.
Congratulations Taxman! This is a monumental Achievement indeed ( will definitely go down in Fan-Gaming History) I'm looking Forward to playing My favorite Sonic game in wide screen! (Sonic CD) Thanks man ! Edit: im so excited over this, screw Genertions!
Today is a great day to be alive. Purchasing so many copies, man. So many copies. Congratulations, Taxman. =)
