    Hmmmmmmm.....

Though I take everything Izuka says with a grain of salt, these 'minigames' better be optional.

  2. Gamestation UK's Game release booklet details Sonic Generations on the 3DS page as November 25th. I'll get a picture when I'm at my home computer.

I'm guessing those missions will be like the missions in unleashed; optional.

Also, I'm completely fine with this so long as they play like sonic with new moves.

As long as this is the case, I'll be pretty satisfied with it as well.

    Trapped in my own thoughts.
Two stageplays, a screenplay, and an album
I said it before and I'll say it again; some portions of Modern Chemical Plant are giving me a serious Casinopolis sewer vibe, particularly that free-falling bit. I know other Sonic games have had similar obstacles, but combined with the visual design in that area I just can't not see it.

  6. I wonder how Eggman will react when he meets Robotnik? Heh, It might be like Timeless river in KH2, when Pete met his past self, beat him up and stole his boat :P

I'd imagine they'd work together like the two Sonic's are.

He has always had both the names Eggman and Robotnik.

On a more relevant note, I can imagine them trying to work together, but continuously arguing over which one is the better villain, and who makes better designs. It would make for hilarious amounts of fourth wall breakage and dialogue.

Oh the opportunities for Classic Eggman to poke jabs at Modern Eggman for getting overthrown by monsters all the time as the villain! :v:

One of the ancillary modern characters (let's say Vector) meets Classic Eggman:

Eggman: I am the great Doctor Eggman!
Vector: I thought you only called yourself that since a few years ago?
Eggman: Goodness, no. Only people who have done no research at all think that.

Getting the motivation to continue old projects
Could prove interesting. Anyways, since people were talking abotu version release dates, here's UK's release dates according to GAME (which Amazon agrees with for the PS3/360 ones):

  11. Yeah...I know that. I thought it was better than saying Classic Eggman. Oh well.

Speaking of the release date, has November 4th been officially confirmed? Or is it just on game sites?

  12. If they only put in the Sonic series "charming and unique" characters, they wouldn't have anyone past Adventure 1.

Then use "Classic Robotnik", Modern Eggman is still Robotnik anyway.

Classic Eggman: - I'm still after that hedgehog? I'm doomed...
    Modern Eggman: - ...

Yeah... classic Robotnik was always just Eggman in Japan, but when they nailed down a coherent continuity in Sonic Adventure, they said his actual name is Robotnik, but Sonic and co. call him Eggman to piss him off. Then from Adventure 2 onwards, he just calls himself Eggman anyway.

Funny thing about that is that it would be more correct to call the old design "Eggman" and the modern design "Robotnik" if we were going from a strictly Japanese SegaSonic perspective and had to differentiate. But really, who gives a TOS?

Why not just leave it to context and call them whatever the hell suits. We got what they meant!

I'm just gonna call Classic Eggman "Robotnik" and Modern "Eggman".

It's easier to type out and the vast majority of Sonic fans know Classic Eggman as Robotnik anyway. :colbert:

    Doing absolutely nothing
I hope we get a Classic Eggman render soon, I'm a little worried about why he wasn't included with Modern Eggman's render. :(

Am I the only one who will be more than annoyed if Classic Eggman/Robotnik isn't solely referred to in-game as "Robotnik"?

I'm tempted to call them Classic Eggman and Modern Robotnik from now on out of spite.

Sheesh, both sides of the argument can get over themselves already.

Why is the 3DS version more expensive than the home console versions?
