While I like the new sprites, his thumb seems really large compared to his hand on the skidding frames.

Quick question, though. Sorry if this was asked before, but will his turning around sprites have the original quills from the sprite (Sonic's quills looking like a mohawk)? Or will it be the official back of Sonic's head we will see?

 

The turning around sprite does indeed use the official back of Sonic's head, that mohawk look was just terrible. It is even more apparent in the corkscrew sprite, which you can see in our trailer at 0:39.

The more I see of this, the more I'm loving it. = ) Lovely to see an animation comparison - just a pity there wasn't also a single image of all four in a row, showing them all running in synchronisation for easier comparison. Still, this looks excellent and really fluid in motion! A testament to the amount of work that's obviously gone into it. Can't wait to see any future art/animation comparisons!

Ah man, all that hard work to break away from color steps style of the TD, and you repost our new Sonic like that in GIF format? It totally doesn't do him justice.

 

Well, my browser doesn't like apng's so I don't really want to make them. You still get the idea, just look at the official stuff for quality.

Yeah, it still looks way better than the tech demo art even with color steps. That's pretty much the story for everything now, though.
