Certainly would explain his seemingly endless number of bases, vehicles, weapons, and robotic armies.

 

Then what had Tails done there with Blue Star and Blue Star II? This keeps suggesting me that he actually worked in Robotnik Corp. too.

 

Maybe he works for a rival company? Would explain their now constant rivalry.

 

Tails just tweaked them, I guess.

 

Fanwank: Robotnik Corp. is owned by a relative of Eggman's, not Eggman himself.

 

Didn't Eggman say he created Meteortech in Zero Gravity?

 

I can remember him saying that he owned it at least, but that seems to be the same difference there. xD; … of course, nobody ever bothered to check the background of the benevolent owner of this fantastic, out-of-nowhere security organization. :v:

Well, I suppose Caterkiller and Mogurin (I forget the localized name) aren't QUITE the same head.

 

Burrobot.

Burrobot just has a drill on it's head, and Caterkillers have a mouth/fangs

 

...And Orbinauts are just the same basic shape without anything at all.
