Well I have been wondering about something Wikipedia (used to) said.

Now here's a question: Why isn't there any more info on it? Secondly: Who put it on Wikipedia in the first place?
I think its time for some answers :words:
Anybody know anything?

Well, I did some searching and I found this topic; unfortunately, there weren't any download links available, and the picture posted in the thread doesn't seem to work anymore.

I've certainly never heard of this, though! I'd love more information on it.

It wouldn't really make the actual game any better...

Well, no....

Why didn't anyone ever make a Genesis version of Somari??? I mean, there's a Super Mario game for Genesis, surely the sprites could be adapted...

There is. If you mean a simple sprite hack of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Well, I mean, I guess that'd be close enough. :-)

But yeah, I guess that would be what I meant.

What I am thinking of is the New Zealand released pirate of Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis for the Gameboy Advance. With "32-Bit Somari sprites". THAT sounds interesting. A sprite hack of Sonic the Hedgehog... Doesn't.

Most likely a fan-made hack or the original ROM strapped to PocketNES. Or maybe someone had a lot of fun giving new meaning to these sprites from years ago.

Pirate homebrews for the GBA are few and far between since you can cram so much into multicarts these days (especially with PocketNES). I think any BRAND NEW SOMARIIIII would have most likely come from a fan of the NES game for a laugh, rather than a full-blown pirate developer wanting your moneys.

Anybody know why a few Wiki's said this was sold mainly in New Zealand then? Somebody would have to say it...

Can you say "gravedig"?

Anyway: No new news has surfaced... Sad really... I hope gravdigging isn't a serious offense here, I am just curious about all things HKO.

Well not much research or findings have come up, but I'm curious as to how this looks. :v:

...I stopped working on that hack years ago due to inexperience.

Anyway, I am indeed interested in seeing this edition of the game have some info released.

I did a google search for Somari Advance, Somari Gameboy, and I think all the relevant links that can be found are probably found now. There just isn't much info out there.
