So I'm seriously the only one who thought the day stages absolutely sucked and the werehog stages were the only good part of the game, for the most part (360 version anyway)? Well, not counting the actual reviewers, I guess.

    Wow.

I'm with ya about the day stages, but I found the night stages to be even worse. Bad camera, random bottomless pits, repetitive set pieces, uninspired enemy AI, the whole nine yards.

They should just make 2 games. One with only THAT werehog and the other with only Sonic. Then I can ignore the former and forget they ever made the fucking thing.

The only problem being loose controls, it is painfully hard to precisely land on the floating crates in Chun-Nan. Way too easy to overshoot.

Yeah, it made that one moon medal at first a little devilish. I kind of got the timing down, though. My problem was with how much the werehog moved if you were trying to tilt the control stick for very slight subtle movements, necessary for Chun-nan Night Act 2 (you know the one... fucking gate keys.) It felt like steering a bus around a corner. Perhaps it can be a testament to the character having weight, but it still felt a bit exaggerated.

Exactly. The Werehog suffered from Sonic 2k6 Jump Syndrome.

In addition to being unable to fall straight down, The Werehog has a minimum turning radius. Unlike Sonic, it can't be turned in place. So it's even worse than 06. I found this glitch you can do in the Chun-Nan hub that looks like something straight out of 06.

Werehog turning was annoying, but I never actually died because of it.

Nothing that concerns this place in the least.
I actually liked the Werehog gameplay in Sonic Unleashed, especially in the 360 version. The only problems I had with it in the Wii version are the somewhat slippery controls, and the fact that the amount of Werehog stages outweighed the amount of Hedgehog stages. Seriously, it had about three or four Acts of nighttime stages, while the daytime stages only got one (except for the Apotos stage, where the first was pretty much a tutorial stage). I didn't like that one bit.

But as much as I liked the Werehog concept, it just doesn't make sense as to how they'll even fit that into another storyline (unless they're planning on having Robotnik resurrect Dark Gaia again). Using the Werehog again, in my opinon, would be just like putting Mephiles in another Sonic game after Next-Gen Sonic/Sonic 2006.

  10. I prefer the night stages on wii mainly because of the time decrease. The day levels were fun too but don't have ANYTHING on the pure sex appeal that the 360 version brings.

Honestly, I liked the Werehog and his stages. (360 version, in Wii version it irritated me.)

The stages were okay, once you got some combos unlocked, things started getting fun. *I love that X + X + X + X +Y Rapid Fist thing*

And honestly, it was like a 3-D Ristar (albeit, watered down and not as fun) with fighting elements. Which, with me, is alright.

Would I/Do I want to play as Werehog in a new title? No. I liked it, but not that much. The Werehog didn't make me buy Unleashed. It was that amazing Sonic the Hedgehog gameplay.

I don't fully understand the Unleashed Game Director's reason for inclusion of the Werehog. I was reading somewhere that the Werehog was introduced to help new players get used to the experience, or something. I must ask, how is a completely different style of gameplay going to help new players ease into Hedgehog gameplay? Confounding, I realize.

I'd rather they just exclude Werehog in a later Sonic title, and use the Hedgehog Engine to make a 2.5-D Ristar game.

The Werehog was included for the sole reason that "just Hedgehog stages" would make the game "too short".

While that is true, in a sense, it really wouldn't have been so bad had the werehog not been there. There were like 9 day stages, each with 2 or 3 Acts, and some of them had bosses. Playing through a story with just those day stages would still provide a longer story experience than Sonic and the Black Knight did (Seriously, it only took like 2-3 hours).

I've been playing Unleashed (360) off and on lately, rarely touching the Werehog. I did like the Werehog, especially Skyscraper Scamper Night, but when I turn the game on I head straight for the Sonic stages. I finished all of Sonic's hotdog missions the other day, and went to go do a few Werehog ones, and...didn't even finish a couple. It was like "Why do I have to do three of these? Why can't I just beat the fastest time, like a medal/trophy system? Bronze: Half a dog, Silver: A whole dog, Gold: A foot long. Maybe like...pay triple the rings to try and get Gold first, hence you get all three.

Instead, they could have added more platforming to the Day stages, full-length Act 2s and 3s, plus Daytime bosses for every level. It could have made up for the "shortness".

We can handle some jazz in a Sonic level though, in Casino levels.

    Working on my art!
At first it was like "Hey this songs kinda cool" Whenever you got into battle. Then once you realized that you had to listen to that song for half the game it drove me insane. They made such a great soundtrack and you can barely listen to half of it due to that jazzy shit coming on all the time.

Exactly. They should have made custom battle themes for each level, like Kingdom Hearts.

Personally I would've preferred if there was no music change at all, as most if not all of the Night Time songs were great.

I'd be okay with it occurring for some more significant battles, like the one with a ton of robots at the end of Mazuri, or in the dead ends in Shamar and Chuu-nan. And of course the Titan music playing whenever there's one of them around as well.

I've said it before, and I'll probably say it 10,000 times.

Make the Werehog gimmick into a Ristar game.

...Then again, we're dealing with the Sega of today. So maybe that's not the greatest idea.
