I figured that would be a problem. What about Back, Forward, Back in a quick motion? or if the double tap has to be done quickly?
How about "up"? That wouldn't conflict with any existing combination, since "up" is almost never used in all the main Sonic games, minus the 8-bit ones where you use "up" to pick a path while in tubes, Hyper Sonic's double jump, and Knuckles' climbing, yeah, but they are not really a problem. "up" while running is new.
Surely a double tap wouldn't be a problem as you're using it to change direction so would have to double tap in the opposite direction to the way you're running. If you double tapped foward by accident it wouldn't matter as you would already be running foward. edit: Although I am only talking about the sonic change direction thingy
About the Emeralds thing, I always felt that the Chaos Emeralds were transformed into the Super Emeralds, and everyone just continues calling them Chaos Emeralds in the later games. (I use this based on how the S1-3k were Emerald Shaped and the Newer games have the Super Emeralds' Diamond shape.)

That is a neat move but I don't think it will be used a lot in the game. From what I see, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles should have a total of 4 moves. Sonic: Roll Spindash Peel-Out Wall-Jump Tails: Roll Fly Propeller Tail Spin (from Sonic Adventure) Knuckles: Roll Charge attack Wall Climb Gliding The only thing left is someone to agree with me.
I'm sorry, but where's the Spindash? In Sonic 3&K, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles ALL had the Spindash, there's no reason to get rid of it. Stuff the Tail Spin and Charge Attack, I want my Spindash.
Counter fix Or... Sonic: Roll [jump] Spindash [down+jump] Peel-Out [up+jump] Insta-Shield [jump in air] Wall-Jump [wall interaction] Tails: Roll [jump] Spindash [down+jump] Propeller [up+jump] Fly [jump in air] ................. [wall interaction] <= (move missing) Knuckles: Roll [jump] Spindash [down+jump] Charge attack [up+jump] Gliding [jump in air] Wall Climb [wall interaction]
How'd we get back at discussing the Spin Dash? Chili Dog would be the best Easter Egg ever, I don't agree on Peel-out and what's the problem with doubletapping? You just.... double-tap quickly. Like in Smash Bros Brawl. It's not complicated.
I totally forgot about the Insta-Shield. We should keep that move. As for the spindash, I agree Tails to have one, but what's the point of having both Knuckles's spindash and charge attack? New list: Sonic - Roll, Spindash, Insta-Shield and Wallkick Tails - Roll, Spindash, Flying, Propeller Knuckles - Roll, Charge attack, Gliding, Wall Climb
Simple: Bosses. By using the level select in Sonic 3K, you can access the final boss as Knuckles. Now, which would you rather have; Charge on the spot while fingers hurt you, or Charge on the spot while killing someone: It's that simple. The Spindash is a key factor in Sonic games, moreso in the 2D games than the 3D ones, but still, it's a thing not to be forgotten about.
You can defeat the boss without the Spindash. That doesn't mean every character should have a Spindash.
But Knuckles had the spindash in S3K and Chaotix, as well all of the Advance games. Why we should remove it? EDIT: quote for page change Added note: if, by every reason, we add Amy as a playable character, then she can miss the spindash, since she can't use it in Sonic Advance 1 and 3 (if Sonic is not her partner)
Maybe it's just me, but I think it's not natural Knuckles to have that move. Replacing it with the charge attack is a great idea because: 1) It fits the style of Knuckles 2) It's function is the same as the Spindash
Yes, but which is quicker? Another thing to note is that Knuckles still had basic moves in the later 2D games, minus the punch et cetera. Knuckles has always had Spindashing abilities, except for in the 3D games, where Knuckles ends up having to look for parts of the Master Emerald (Thus making it useless).
Unless there is some plan to replace the spindash with some other move I don't see the point in debating it's existence. Keep the spindash and give the charge move an extra purpose to avoid redundancy issues.
I meant that it's not necessary to use it. I think it's pointless to continue arguing for the moves, let the leaders of the project decide.
