I wonder if they have a bunch of casts of this statue or if it merely got relocated.

 

I'll check local stores - they tend to throw stuff like this out when they are done with it (did anyone want animal crossing posters? I forgot to take them)

Coincidently, the same statue is at the SEGA Player's Arena in Shanghai.
I see on this one that the hand's been tilted down

 

That one looks like a prototype.


The other pictures, the statue isn't shiny, and is a different color blue.

 

Actually, if you lived in the UK, last month you could have won this thing by using a Gedit card in any of the stores.



This month a giant little sister statue is up for grabs.

The Gamestation near me didn't have one =( Then again it's a small store here, so yeah. God I wish I had that thing.

 

I saw one of those when I was in Meadowhall (Sheffield) a few days ago. If I remember correctly, there were a couple of giant statues of other characters as well as Sonic. Can't remember whether they were Sonic characters or from other games, though.

If I'd known people on this forum were talking about it, I'd have taken photos with my iPhone

 

There's a Sonic statue like this in GAME in Bolton.

Alsso, IIRC there's also a pretty awesome one of Iron Man in the new Game Exchange, where they've blutacked the latest PS3 and XB360 releases to his hands =P

 

I think there are 200 of the things around the UK, Europe or something like that, having put one together I can tell you they are a pain in the backside to do and come in very large boxes indeed. Stores are under stict instructions they aren't to sell them off or give them away to my knowledge. Sorry!

 

Aww, that sucks. At least they look nice though. Would be kind of nice if SEGA sold them off like how Nintendo sold off a Link statue in it's store for 16,000 points.
