Everyone seems to be forgetting the prototype Sonic 06 music Link ripped for Cult. They've got that MIDI-type backing seen in the Open your Heart proto music

edit: hurf durf I missed it in the OP, regardless, there's the songs for download in case they aren't in the wiki

Actually no. This is basically the E3 version but extended to the length of the Ali/Matty Version. If you could some how overlay the vocal of that track over this version, it's a perfect match.

They should have used this instead of the music we got for the final IMO.
Or better yet, an extended E3 theme with vocals. It'd have been sheer ownage.

I kinda like this What I'm Made Of Proto. I never realised the newer games had so many leaked proto music, besides Open Your Heart and Leaf Forest

Wow, there IS a lot! I really appreciate this, and I'm going to get to work on an article ASAP.

    So, for confirmation, we've got:

    -Sonic CD 510 Theme Music
-Sonic CD 510 Speed Shoes Music
    -Death Egg Beta
    -Oil Ocean Beta
    -Boss Beta
    -Casino Night Beta
    -Hidden Palace Beta
    -Sonic 3 Medley
    -Sonic Spinball Beta
    -Sonic Spinball Emerald Tune Beta
    -Sonic Spinball Death Beta
    -Sonic 3D Unidentified Parade-y Tune
-Sonic 3D Unidentified Special Stage-y Tune
    -SA2 E3 Theme
    -Escape From The City Beta
    -Live And Learn (Instrumental)
-Sonic Advance 2 (Leaf Forest Beta)
    -Sonic Heroes (Demo)
    -Seaside Area Beta
    -City Area Beta
    -Battle 3 Beta
    -Ocean Palace Beta
-Casino Park Beta //// (PROBABLY shouldn't, since it's on the OST)
    -Hang Castle 1 Beta
    -Hang Castle 2 Beta
    -Final Fortress Beta
    -2P City Beta
    -Heroes Miniboss Beta
    -Heroes System Menu Beta
    -Follow Me beta
-What I'm Made Of Chorus Demo
    -His World (E3 Extended, then)
    -Dreams Of An Absolution (Instrumental)
-Sonic 1 Game Gear Ending (Unleashed)
    -Endless Possibility

I guess now I'll start compiling these tracks, writing descriptions, and figuring out the structure of the article.
If anyone could help with extracting the Heroes tracks and identifying which song numbers the Sonic 3D tracks are, that'd be great.

    Nonono, full stop here.
This is the extended E3 version which can be found on the 3-disk soundtrack (which I happen to own and ripped it from), and this is the one from Sonic CulT from the 360 disk. They're different.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, this version still exists in the game, If you play 2-player mode and go for Course 1 which is City Escape in snow, you snowboard the entire level.

City Escape wasn't in SA2's 2P mode to begin with, while in SA2B, it's a different song that plays in the level.

Alright, my first draft of the article is done. The name of the article is "Unreleased Music".

Small question regarding the wiki article. How should we document a song that has more than one version to it? For example, the cart dump of the beta drx has of Sonic 3D Blast contains an unused song (the Parade sounding one) which was updated in prototype 825.

PS: Added some stuff on the page, will add more but I need clarification on a few. Weren't there unused songs (like, 4 of them) in Sonic Jam for the Saturn? I'm not completely familiar with Sonic Jam to know all of them. I remember back when Pach was leaking Sonic Heroes material that he leaked Final AND Beta version ADXs but only for a day, does anyone still have these? I also remember a lot of unused Sonic Advance music (some not viewable on sound test I think?) with a few for the Mini Chao Gardens. Also to go along with the leaked/incomplete Sonic music wiki page, how about a list of all the unused SFX? I think it's something that can go completely unnoticed for a long time without being identified right away. I might be able to help with this.

The WZ/MZ theme in the Wai beta is an octave lower than in the final version.

Is this the music which is used (Although partially) in Super Smash Bros Brawl, and it is called "His World (Instrumental)"? The guitar chorus seems the same.

Hell, they are identical! I wonder why they used only those parts and not the whole song.

Has an altered intro, different ending before it loops, and the instruments are slightly different.

spinball also had pal/ntsc differences, and the s2 based title track was included in early prints of the final game (there was an interview at iceknights site that mentioned this).

Yeah—if I remember correctly, the basic jist is that they had originally included the Dreams Come True Sonic theme, but realized that they didn't actually have the rights to it (nor the money to pay royalties for it). Howard Drossin ended up whipping up a new title jingle in about 15 minutes or so, and they slammed it into the game.

Though I am curious as to what regional differences you're talking about. I don't particularly recall any, though it could just be slipping my mind.

The one you linked to sounds like it came from the E3 version. The one on the 360 disk has an obvious MIDI backing and you can tell it's an in development version.
