Sonic Retro splash screen

Your plan to release the base code of coding a screen sounds interesting, as well as having it in a seperate ASM file makes matters easier. I'm sure if you do release the code, people will get along with it & have no problems, because it's easy to sort stuff out with SonMapEd, since that saves the file, pallete & mappings.
I hope that you do release it, although I believe it won't be for a while.

If people want a splash screen, let them use the code, but make them create their own graphics (I would even go so far as to say if they make their own Retro graphic without permission that's not the official one then they need a good stern talking to). The tutorial should have some sort of example screen, but definitely NOT the Retro logo. Maybe something generic with a Sonic head graphic and text saying "EXAMPLE SPLASH SCREEN - IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS IN AN ACTUAL HACK THE CREATOR IS LAZY AS ALL FUCK" =P

In regards to credit, Cinossu is already credited in STLL (and pending STLL2 once/if I start working on it).

They idea of having a Sample splash screen would be an excellent idea. And you know really, with instructions on how to animate and edit it, Im pretty sure people who have creative juices will come up with their own Sonic Retro splash screen exclusive to their ROM that will amaze us all. Something like "Sonic falling from a black sky with clouds in the back ground, landing on the master emerald, and like less than a second later, Sonic Retro comes falling from the sky, and slowly bounces into place."

I prefer, Sonic is flying on the Tornado as Tails pilots a la Sky Chase, and then jumps down (using the I'm Outta Here! SCD frames for that), landing on the Master Emerald, a flash of white light, and then see the Sonic Retro logo. Intro to Space Harrier Theme plays, and then Knuckles comes into view. Grabs the emerald out from Sonic (displays his "I'm hit haugblarghablagh" animation as he falls). Knuckles smashes through the logo, and then Tails flies down. Sonic 2 GG-style shrugging animation occurs here.

 

Hell, I'm not going to be programming that any time soon, but dammit, I want to see that.
If they use it, the more power to them. Just as long as someone makes a video of it and puts it on Youtube.

 

Can someone make the tutorial?
