Now that I think about it, having "Beta" on the logo like that makes the name sound stupifyingly dumb. That, and I dunno why the "2" would still be there, as well. I mean, I'm all for keeping S2B's name, but the way it is now, it just seems like a desperate attempt to please everyone. I think the yellow "Sonic" and the Blue "Retro", as well as the emerald should suffice. Possibly put the emerald behind the "Sonic Retro", and where it normally was, put the Retro symbol. Just my 2 cents.

Seriously, you're all making a big deal out of the name that... Doesn't need to be made. It's just a name; it won't change what this place is, or what it stands for. I mean, when's the last time we even TALKED about Sonic 2 Beta?

Sonic Classic didn't die when it changed its name (it just died because it was Sonic Classic). We won't either. It's not a big deal, srsly. :x

As long as I can still go to a site providing good hacking information and just good overall information, then that's fine really. That includes not only the new information that comes in, but also the older inforamtion still availible as well. Those who've provided and will continue to provide such information regardless, will always be greatly appreciated. That's is my intake on the subject after reading through this a bit.

I'll just play devil's advocate here;

If the name change is really that meaningless, why do it at all? All I see it acheiving is annoying people like me and a handfull of other oldbies, and those who do support it mainly going 'Meh' at the idea. So basically, you pay for a name change which is apparently not a big deal with some drama and without any real returns in the first place.

The merger, after all, was practically on its way when SS said it originally. The name change doesn't really make it any more or less merged with Sonic Retro. Indeed, keeping all the old S2B rules and stuff in effect, while only changing the name, is kind of silly. Why change it at all? It'll still stick out from the Wiki like a sore thumb.

Of course, as we all saw from the Sonic Retro Forums, they were mostly a clone of these in terms of membership and activities. So, perhaps, we were already 'merged', and all we had to add in was the Wiki. On this side, I think instead "Does it matter what name the place has, when it was a near exact match to Sonic Retro's regardless of name?"

So the summary of this is: I agree, the name change isn't important. So why make a big deal about changing it to Sonic Retro forums, if it neither makes the forums more integrated than they already are, nor solves any pre-existing problems?

Of course, you can call it anything you want now. The extent of discussion of this has proven to me the frivolity of my past arguments. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

I just don't see why we need to rename a Rose a Red Thorn Flower, when the previous name worked just fine. :P

I really like Cinossu's logo, but it needs more master Emerald. I second the name change, but there should be some legacy as well.
