Sonic 2 Nick Arcade Prototype GHZ Music Glitch

  1. When playing the Sonic 2 Nick Arcade proto, in GHZ I immediately noticed something strange in the music. I dumped a very short .wav of it, and after sitting around on my HD for months, I finally uploaded it here.

This “strangeness” is a short “ding” in the music. Trivial or not, I think that it's interesting, because none of the other music (that I listened to from that proto) had any glitches. I could be wrong, though.

Nope doesn't happen on here, as far as I can notice. What are you using as an emulator?

By the way can you fix your sig. You've left loads of space.

That space is there because of his profile, not his signature.

Neither have I. Is it some kind of emulator bug?

I've heard that a few times but not thought anything of it. It is a prototype at the end of the day so there are bound to be a fair few glitches.

  10. Doesn't happen for me, either.

That sounds like a late sound cue.

I think I've heard that happen a few times when pausing the game (Sonic 1). I'm guessing it's because pausing wipes out some YM2612 registers, so it has to restart that sound instead of continuing from where it left off. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong please, I don't have in-depth knowledge of the sound engine in Sonic 1.)
