If they have a CG intro on par with the quality of 06 or Unleashed for this game I would buy 50 copies. God those were cool as fuck.
06's is tainted by the entire stench that is 06 but I'll happily agree that Unleashed's opening (well - up until the point that Sonic gets trapped in the machine anyway) is one of the coolest sequences the franchise has ever done. Wouldn't mind seeing more at that level.
Public as in, the public at Gamescom can play it? Or everybody can play it? I'm guessing it's the former, but I'd love the latter.

I agree, also the art design in Windmill Isle was utterly beautiful. Sonic Unleashed was such a good-looking game at the time, just a shame it wasn't fully optimised in some of the latter levels
They aren't going to release a demo to the wild again. They learned their lesson after the Generations demo was datamined to heck.
Not to mention even at convention demos you can find some major stuff. When I got to play TSR at EGX, I drove backwards from the start line and found a roadside banner which had Metal Sonic with his car on full display. Weeks before he was confirmed to be in the game.
There was a demo for Forces, but I think it was Japan-only and just on Switch and PS4. I made a separate Switch profile to download it. It might have had other content, but I mostly remember it for the Avatar's Space Port stage, and that you couldn't play further than the "QTE" before a timer kicked you out. EDIT: Yep, here's good ol' Sam playing it on PS4. It had the first stage ("Sand Hill"), Classic Sonic's Eggman fight in GHZ, and the Avatar stage, all on a timer.
We did get a demo in the west but it was just Hidden Valley on a (I wanna say 30 seconds) time limit.
Hell, even Origins datamining revealed some info about Frontiers and it's completely separate game lol
The thing about the timer is that there was a way either to just finish the stages before the timer was up or freeze the timer and play the whole level anyways. At the very least, this was possible with Space Port.
I remember the demo to Sonic 06 on the 360, being better than the actual game. That demo level (like the stage in the game) played rather well and looked good. I hope there is a playable version of Frontiers at GamesCom.
Im pretty sure even Lost World had a demo for both regions, but I dont actually know for sure if that released alongside the game or before it. All i remember of it was it only let you play windy hill zone 1 I wouldnt be shocked if we get some sort of locked area demo of frontiers
New artwork found on a Kuji website in Taiwan. It seems to confirm DLC of some form, gives a closer look at some Kocos, and what appears to be a new character behind Sonic.
