So like, he's seriously doing all the music himself? That's pretty impressive if so. Wow.

EDIT: \/ That's what I was meaning but yeah. Haha

No, he has has the technicians/arrangers/drummers but in composing work and producing it's probably all him. In Sonic Colors we had Hideaki Kobayashi, Kenichi Tokoi and Mariko Nanba as composers too.

Am I the only one who doesn't think rooftop run is that great of a song (the classic version was good though)

I'd rather there be multiple composers, otherwise the songs may all start to sound the same. If I weren't familiar with a lot of the levels' tunes in Adventure 2, I wouldn't know which tracks Senoue intended to be for each stage in a lot of cases.

Ohtani does good work, however Tokoi did Planet Wisp, Asteroid Coaster, and Terminal Velocity in Colors, which were my favorite tracks in that game. I don't think Sonic games work well with only one composer, but maybe this new style will suit a monogamous composition. It's reaching so far back to the originals that Ohtani may be their stand-in Nakamura :specialed: .

Not to deter away from the discussion of the composers, but, how do you think Sonic Lost World being on the Wii U will affect the Wii U in terms of sales, as the Wii U has not been selling up to snuff recently? (If this has been discussed already, I sincerely apologize).

That depends on how many die-hard Sonic fans there are that don't already own a Wii U. That said, non-fans are taking some interest in the game.

If I had the $ to spare on a Wii U and a decent HDTV, or even any $ at all, I would've preordered this game already.

I feel that this game has some serious potential. Sonic has always sold great on Nintendo consoles, and I've been hearing some pretty good reviews of the game so far.

Well I at least got a Wii U for this game (Well, not just this game, but it was the one game that made me get a Wii U now rather than later... that and the price cut and the Wind waker bundle)

I think it'll be seen as a great game to pick up alongside all the others coming out in the next few months. I don't see many people picking up a Wii U just because of Lost World, though. (I'm sure there are some doing just that however)

As much as I love Sonic, on a business perspective, and as someone who's been in all the up and downs of the franchise, I'll be surprised if Sonic fans make a significant impact on the sales of the Wii U. Maybe if the game seemed more like a main title versus a spinoff (IMO).

  12. If I hear good things about Sonic Lost World when it's released/close to being released, then chances are I would pick up a Wii U at that time, especially if there's a price drop over here.

How does this game not seem like a main title? It's the first real Sonic game since Sonic Generations (Excluding Sonic 4 Ep 2 and SASRT which is not a Sonic game)

The Deadly Six's colors remind me of wisp colors.

I can't believe there are people who are saying this isn't a "main game". What constitutes as a main game then? Does it have to be multiplat? That hardly makes sense if that's the only reason. This game plays in a similar way to the previous ones with new innovations, and these are innovations that may very well become a staple. This isn't like Sonic and the Secret Rings where the premise of the game is built because of a gimmick, this is as "main game" as it gets.

It's probably the art style that makes people say that. =/

Even though, you know, Sonic hasn't had a consistent art direction since the Classics. The "Boost era" was the exception, not the rule. Even then, you had a huge variance on what kinds of levels you saw in the same style. Colors had zany environments, Unleashed had more realistic ones presented in a zany fashion, and Generations had a mixed bag of zany, realistic, and in-between levels, even within the same trope (too many cities or not).

    I was thinking this.

I wouldn't be surprised if we discover they are in some way connected to the Wisps directly. Maybe I'm just stating the obvious, though. :v:

It's only a "main game" if it's available for *their* platform of choice. If it's exclusive to one or two platforms that "super hardcore" Sonic fans don't have, it can't possibly be a main game.

Sonic 2006, as we all know, is a main game because it was available for 360, PS3, Wii, Windows, iOS, Ouya, and Phantom.

  20. So maybe...Wisps are to the Deadly Six, as Chao are to Chaos?
